Yeah, towing and battery replacement were free, and now my wireless charging works! Just need to get a 3d model for a single cupholder so I can use them both simultaneously

Good Initiative man. I have a slightly similar idea, I'm not sure it'll work but I'll post that up once I verify it.
What do you mean? The downconverter box is not to convert to micro USB, it's to get a 12V source to output at 5V.... the Micro USB box was just the one I chose because that coil used Micro USB, you'll still need to down convert no matter which USB plug type you use.

No, this will not take power unless your car is on or in ACC mode, if your battery was almost dead it wasn't because of this. I left my car in the airport lot for a week and started up fine as well.

I've been waiting for a decent writeup on how to do this. I plan on doing this in the FRS little slot (where the push start should be) since I always throw my phone in there. Definitely gonna do this eventually once I get a Qi phone lol.

Just learned my phone has wireless charging as a feature.
Thinking the same exact thing.

Anyways my question to those that have done this. Any interference issues? I know for instance that dash cams are known for causing minor issues with GPS. Any known issues here before I put a big induction coil in middle of my dash near the radio?

No, there are no issues like that with Qi charging, the induction only works when placed right over it anyway..
