To everyone who keeps saying it needs more offset: you do realize that that will tuck the wheel further up into the wheel well, right? Decreasing the offset will bring the wheels further out of the wheel well.

The guy who owns this car was a fool to go for that high of an offset on an 8 inch wide wheel. Stock wheels are 7 inches wide with an offset of +48. Widening the wheels by a whole inch, and only going down 3mm? I'd be really surprised if his tires aren't rubbing somewhere.

probably the worst color combination ever... the 18s really look good on there. i'd like to see that wheel in a 17x8" size, just to compare. i don't mind a little sidewall.

18x8.5 should be perfect on this car.
and yes RG series never look good with small brake. even sti's brembo didn't look right with RG's. wheel space looks so empty

I agree with everyone about how small the brakes look at an initial glance; I dig those rims but the overall setup isnt doing it for me.

maybe i'm the only one who doesn't *really* care what the brakes look like, as long as they stop the car well, lap after lap...

You are not. However, better tires and lighter wheels will make more of an improvement over larger brakes... and the stock brakes are probably more than a car that size needs.

haha, i know, was just like "" about how the brakes look in those wheels. they look like brakes. the brakes on my MR2 are smaller and still stop the car juuuuust fine, hehe.

Here is my old rgII setup on my sti. You get the idea of the wheel with brembo brakes. And its 17x8.5

I'm fine with small brakes on a lowish-powered car. I'm sure these are appropriately sized. But bigger-diameter wheels with stock dinky brakes => form over function.

If you have enough power that you need big brakes, then you need bigger-diameter wheels to house them. Otherwise, bigger-diameter wheels are just for show. And if it's for show, small brakes inside big wheels don't look so hot...

So kind of a fail on both form-follows-function and on looks.

yeah i have ran small 10mm spacers on all my cars and have never had issues! helps take that little illusion of the back wheel away a bit. But im with you dont want to run staggered so i hope spacers fix it. Hopefully someone will test this in the near future
