Rio, great write up, thanks. Looking forward to installing mine of the new FR-S when it arrives!

What pressures are you running? It's an interesting dilemma here since higher psi usually means better wet grip (within limits) but that must be balanced with your new, wider size to prevent bulging and tread distortion.

On my current 225/45 RE-11A's on stock wheels, 30 psi cold works best. Of course it's a completely different construction than the Pilot Super Sports, but might be a good starting point.

I'll be careful during the break-in miles. After installation of new tires and time permitting I try to go on a high speed break-in run of at least 100 miles to heat cycle and scrub the new tires, usually between Troutdale and Hood River (awesome bagel shop there where the hot babes due a hula dance for you after tipping them, well worth the drive) on I-84.

Let's go! Oh wait, I'm hosting a Super Bowl party and have to brine the turkey and prep the mesquite grill.

Anyway, the place is seasonal and so is the help. Last year during windsurfing season they were well staffed with hotties, don't know about this year b/c they get lots of turnover.

Open Thurs-Sun 7-2 but usually sell out early, best to arrive before 12.

I get a dozen to go and the tip jar at the counter starts the action!

Winjets Installed!

I was told it would take about an hour to do but of course I was interrupted several times by the neighbors to talk about that car and the landscape project.

So it looked like this:

And after all this work:

It ended up looking like this:

I used this DIY and it was very helpful. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...per+headlights
I would only add to make a good note of how the plastic attaches to the bumper so you can reattach it properly.

Rally Armor

Even though I purchased these about 6 months ago, I finally installed them. But I wanted to do things slightly different...

I plasti dipped them! Yeah, I figured I would give it a try and see how long the coat would last. I'll keep you guys posted!

Here they are installed.

Gas Hood Struts (Genome Tuning)

Today I installed the gas hood struts from Genome Tuning's group buy. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66435

WOW! Great deal AND absolutely great quality on day one! Very smooth upwards motion that takes it all the way up and great balance coming down. pull the hood release and it provides ample force to pop it right up!

Let's see how long it last. THAT is the question. But for $60 it's a hell of a deal.

That took 20 minutes!

Just installed a set of Smoked Valenti Tail Lights. I thought it would be a little less complicated than the Winjet head lights but boy was I wrong. It took about 20 minutes. Now it really looks like a stormtrooper :-)

Ha! I was thinking the same thing when I test drove one. Couldn't hold a conversation with the salesperson the interior noise was so bad. The engine sounds like a school bus motor at high RPM's; it's just miserable. Quick car, but Nissan sacrificed NVH for performance.

OP you made a great choice with the FR-S, and getting out of a 996 Porsche
