Seems reasonable long as they they don't expect roadmaster cargo volume.

It's writing like this that keep my magazine subscription $$ going to other magazines. C&D is more irrelevant every year... (IMHO).

that article isnt even that negative. its amazing how few will even bat an eyelash when someone compares it to a ferrari. then when they say that its average outside of its handling people have a fit.

Because it IS average all of a sudden? "Averageness" was oddly missing from all the reviews. The cool kids are moving on to newer toys.

on every surface. It's purpose built to be a sports car and not just another corolla with hard shocks. Now they're complaining about that? Really.. This affordable package.. Look at the next step up RWD performance car and compare the price.. They should be praising the OEM instead. So it's just another opinion of a columnist having to fill voids in a magazine trying to stay afloat.. I respect many of their views and testing procedures.. But this is just useless complaining.

"They should have allocated more money in the features and creature comforts and less in the drivetrain and chassis!"- Said no 86 driver ever.

The only review that truly matters...the one done by yourself. I firmly believe in test driving any car you plan to buy, if the car fails your test drive expectations its no good, if it passed you're probably ready to buy it then.

Not saying it's cheap, but I am saying that it's inexpensive for what you get. If you really think about it, the lowest tier car Toyota sells is the corolla. The range of this car is between 17-21(ish for non-xrs versions).

Now think about for 4K more you move from a super basic econobox to a "sports" car.

Now people always forget that quality always costs money.
Toyota made a reliable (decently), well made with decent material (not saying perfect, though i challenge you to find a perfect car), and ****FUN*** car at 25K.

I say they did a pretty good job.
