Scions do have a variety of drivers from soccer moms, to teens that "oh my parents bought me this car", and the dreaded ricer, and for those the scion is perfect.

Not just the people, but honestly scions are a dime a dozen in So Cal. I prefer a car that is not so mass produced.

WRX/STi and EVO are not very mass produced and typically speaking the crowd of people who buy those cars know what they are buying, and are looking for cars that perform significantly better than a mass produced econoboxs. People don't just walk on to a subaru lot and and tell the sales guy there interested in the impreza but are also considering a corolla or civic and get up-sold on a STi.

Also all Scions to date have been pretty lacking in the performance department. So if the FT86 came as a scion and had to meet the 19,999 price point I feel that the cuts they would have to make to meet that price point would make the car an absolute dog and not worth it. I think they would most likely cut the LSD, and this "high performance" boxer motor in favor for a more run of the mill boxers that comes in a standard impreza.

Im with you on this. I would hate to see this car turn into the new civic. You all know the feeling when your just driving down the freeway and you see those familiar EG/EF headlights in the rear view and know this doucher is gonna want to race. As you just keep looking forward he will punch it and his automatic will down shift and eventually he will pass you with his huge exhaust screaming. I dont want that feeling in 5-10 years where i see those sexy FT86 HIDs in the rear veiw.

In the end i guess it doesnt matter. I will own one and thats all I really care about. Im just hoping for a more exclusive ownership like that of the STi, EVO, S2K ect.

(sorry for more honda bashing, civics arnt the only ricers )

I see where your coming from in that aspect. I had to add TRD springs and rear sway to get decent handling out of my tc and its always going to be slow. It's obvious they were trying to keep the price down. If the ft86 comes out around 20k though I'm sure they would be about as common as a tC or V6 Mustang which starts at $21,395. Especially considering the 86 is going to be a very attractive looking car. I think the idea was to keep it within reach to the everyday consumer so whether it comes as a Scion or not its still going to be a common car.

I would hate that. Thats one of the reason i wanted to get rid of my tc cuz when i went to the high school we had about 5 tC's just in the parking lot and the lot was only for the senior class. I can't go a day without seeing atleast 5 or so tC's. I'd like to own a car where i can go a few weeks without seeing the same car.

You wanna car that where you can go a few weeks without seeing the same one, then go with these instead of FT86c. I'm pretty damn sure you won't see these often.

Or if you wanna be exclusive you could do this to your tc. (Brace yourself, this one's gonna hurt)

yea...this is probably what people are talking about when they mention riced out scions.

I think there's a cobra emblem on the side too under the mirror.

lol also having rare color is good too.

I own Sedona Red color Impreza RS and in the city I live, there's only 8 that's been register Sedona Red Impreza (so my friend told me)... and make it more rare, out of those 8, only 3 are coupe... and I still haven't seen exact same car (Sedona Red & coupe) yet.
