IF that is the case then you have only confirmed how misleading and unjust they are. They shouldn't give anyone a 3 month deadline. There is a thing called officer discression and obviously it was never considered.

Here is a clear visual example (following up with Gen's points) of how much more dangerous other jobs are compared to police officer's jobs, who didn't even make it on the chart. Tax drivers die more often... c'mon people.

Yup, at this point it's best to remove it, go to court and get the second dropped and the first reduced or dropped as well. It's the same here in WI. The tint laws only apply to sports cars in the eyes of law enforcement. Then again, this is the same state that hands out tickets for air fresheners hanging from your rearview, having a license plate frame, not having a front plate and for having any kind of aftermarket exhaust that makes any sound louder than a mouse farting. I <3 Wisconsin! XD

Sorry, I look at it a little differently. The first ticket was not a 'get out of jail free' pass. So you were given till October to fix the issue. That doesn't mean you were allowed to continue driving in violation of the law, which you were doing. Park your car till you get the tint removed and I can guarantee you won't get a third ticket.

Hey, shhhhhh, do you hear that? No? Oh wait there it is, the worlds smallest violin playing for you.

Fix the tint and pay your fines.

It's for real, man. WI has more laws on the books than any other state in the country. That's how the government makes money. They have none of their own so they take ours, lol.

I never stated that it was a "'get out of jail free' pass". It is a citation or fix-it ticket, sooo your statement makes no sense and is inapplicable. Second, you are wrong, I am allowed to drive despite not fixing it because I have till October, which is an order from the court. Thanks for your opinion though.

What can I say, People who knowingly spend money to break the law, and then act surprised when the law comes down on em. Whats up with that?

Or in other words, Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

One big difference I see in these professions is that fatalities for these tend to occur by accident (car crashes, falling into a machine, drowning, falling off a roof or building). I wonder what the chart would look like by profession of those murdered by others for doing the job (military, cops, bank tellers, 7-11 clerks, maybe cab drivers). To me having a job where you have a higher risk of getting murdered while protecting others (military, fire, police, emts) is different than working at a dangerous job. Both can kill you, but one is a deliberate act and one is an accident (although some profession have both risks...cabbies, cops & military).

Found some interesting data on a quick internet search:
  • In 2011, 72 law enforcement officers were feloniously killed in the line of duty.
  • In 2011, 53 law enforcement officers died as the result of accidents that occurred in the line of duty.
  • Law enforcement agencies reported that 54,774 officers were assaulted while performing their duties in 2011.
  • The rate of officer assaults in 2011 was 10.2 per 100 sworn officers.
source: http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/leoka/2011

I bet the military data would be very interesting too, but I did not readily find it.

This one is old, but seems like a very high risk of murder and accident if you drive a limo/cab. I could not find rate of assault to compare to cops. I would also like to also see where the military ranks.
