Honestly I would just look at the pricing for the impreza to get an idea of what an actual brz sti would be priced at: WRX starts at about 26k, STI starts at about 34k. So a 7k-8k premium sounds about right. And no, the brz s is not by any indication what the sti would be like. Again, all those parts are accessories. STI has been releasing parts like these across their full like of subarus for a long time. We just don't see them usually outside JDM.
That 7k extra for the S model is really paying a premium to have everything covered by your warranty and insurance. It's peace of mind that parts are built, received, and installed without issue. So yes, while I built my car to that spec for a lot cheaper, all my parts are gray market. Even through japanparts, they forewarn that they are NOT liable if parts are damaged even upon receipt. This was definitely nerve racking for me when my exhaust was being shipped considering how expensive the part is. Also, I was recently involved in a small accident that damaged one of my side sills, so yes, I have to replace my set out of pocket. If you look at STI parts through bulletproof auto versus japanparts or nigel, they are actually hundreds more and that's because bulletproof will warranty their items for a certain time period; that's why its more expensive.
