IMO once you experience the visual night driving clarity of HID's you will find it's hard to go back to halogen projections. Truth.

since the 86 is supposedly really successful in Japan, I wouldn't put it past aftermarket light companies to come out with HID for people to purchase. So who know what you could put in there instead of those FRS lights. I would see the importance of HID for alot of people but for me, it doesn't seem like it's a dire need for them, I live right in the city and there's lights everywhere it's very easily visible, and I don't get the opportunity to go out much of the city. I take the forester if I was going out of town to visit my parents up the mountain or something.

Perhasp we.. should wait till april to hear the entire options list from SCION. either way people will jump ship if, FRS has HID to Scion and If they don't they'll just to Subaru. That's how I see it anyways.

For me, it's like a points system in my head. I see the BRZ like this...
  • +5 points: Prettier seat upholstery (no red shoulders)
  • +5 points: Prettier gauges (no white tach)
  • -5 points: Built-in nav. I hate a big screen lighting up the interior at night. Even if you dim them all the way down it seems like they're still killing your night vision.
  • 0 points: Manual HVAC is perfect just like the FRS so that's neither points up or down.
  • 0 points: I like turning the key, don't need push-start, so that's neutral too.
  • 0 points: Black piece on front bumper is kinda huge (-5) but at least the headlights don't stick out past the bumper (+5) so those cancel each other out.
  • 0 points: Handling is gonna be rad on FRS or BRZ, so that's a wash.
  • +1,000,000 points: I'm putting the TRD high wing on whatever car I end up buying, so one million points for badassery.

And last but not least, the original reason I started comparing the FRS to BRZ-P in the first place.. headlights.

I want HID, I will have HID, I don't care if the car comes with it... Problem solved: www.theretrofitsource.com

HIDs are huge for me. I'm not replacing an over ten year old car with a new car that doesn't have better optics. The FR-S headlights look cheap and the white tach in the FR-S is very ugly as well. As a brand I prefer Subaru. In addition... WRB.

Could've swore I heard ages ago that it's illegal to replace your stock setup with HID's, at least where I live. Maybe there's no truth to it but sometimes HID's are so blinding that they seem dangerous. I often wonder if they were aftermarket solutions installed improperly.

I suppose that's one negative I can think about about this car being so low. I bet you HID's will even be more of a pain in the ass when they are right in your eyes.

1) Yep, most aftermarket lighting is sold for "off-road use only."
2) Yep, lots of people install mods incorrectly or engineer them wrong in the first place.
3) Yep, driving a sports car really sucks when trucks, SUVs, etc., headlights are at eye-level.

I can't even begin to vocalize my thoughts on point number 3.

Actually the black trim looks better than the fake silver trim.

Both have the same exact dash material.

Now the limited BRZ is higher quality inside because of the leather/alcantara seats, leather padded door panels, dual zone ac with push start button.
The cars are Toyota hq in the us do NOT have bespoke btw.

It depends on the size of your GPS. If it is like a 5" or less model, you still can mount it on the passenger side air vent and close the vent on that side if possible (or your just cool/heat your GPS by all means..). It will block your stereo but that is life.

Mounting to the window or to the dash is neither a good idea. Doing that will block your view anyway.

For me the only real options are the FRS or the BRZ Limited. Weird I know.

I just would want the BRZ with every option, because otherwise I like the styling of the FRS a lot better.

I do love HIDs, but there would be too many compromises that I wouldn't want to make. I don't want NAV and I don't want to pay $2000+ for HIDs for the Premium model.

I've said this before but I hope there's a h9 conversion to get a bit more light out of the halogen projectors (like the wrx) until I could either buy EU gt86 lights or a retrofit.

I like how you say this but youre on first 86 :\ guessing you didnt know what you wanted at the time. Bet lots of people are the same way. Im abit sad about that, there are people who want the car who arent on that list.but hey if there are thing you got to have then you got to have it no matter. Because its important to you.
