Yup I posted something like this earlier.....proposing that the engineers pulled timing or something.....based on some research I did, granted its not going to be the be all end all fix. But definitely progressing in the right direction.

My statement may have some truth to it after all.

No offense to anyone as one of those is my tuner obviously!! But this are words directly from another ECUTek tuner: "to become a master tuner, you just need to place a large order of tune kits, its nothing special". I honestly don't know if this is true or not but regardless, I wouldn't base how good or bad a tuner is based on the "master tuner" designation but more on lots of reviews of their work.

To further threadjack, how much does a tune usually cost to apply?

Depends who you buy it from but its usually

300$ - cable
300$ - license
300$ - tune

If you have a license and either have a cable or borrow a cable, its about 300$ give or take

Deleted; they were trying to sell tunes without being an official forum vendor, which is against the rules.

If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say he was banned pending vendor account payment

something tells me they weren't going to sell many tunes the way that thread was headed.

"HEY! look at our awesome tune! It's peak run made 1.5HP over our stock run in this video!"

the owners of that dyno actually sent me over a screen shot overlaying their car with my tune along with this tune and you can clearly see that runs started way after mine. i started the runs ar 2500rpm where as theirs was about 3500rpm i could see a bit more timing was run through the range which netted a little more power in the mod for them but up top you can see the knock take affect when the ecu pulled timing in the upper rpm range.

I know people want to believe that, but it is simple not true. I already posted in the other thread the proof that the timing actually goes up during the dip. ALL of the 4-1 headers have shown either major reduction or complete elimination of the dip... which, also as i said in the other thread, is because the dip is a combination of factory tuning (the 10 or 15 ft-lb you can get on the higher rpm side of the dip) and the factory mandifold design.
