how do you like the stance coils? Most people i see are running KW3s. Although coming from a 240 i see why you liked Stance ones. They are really popular on 240s.

Love them. Everything you need is included. Everything bolts right up and includes all of brackets for the lines/sensors. Install is cake.

The adjustability is great. I sit at my current ride height and still have another inch to 1.5" of room to go lower on the coilovers. Not hat I'm going to lower it more, but I got to the height I wanted without maxing out. I might actually raise the car back up 1/2 and inch or so. Camber adjustment is great too. I run about -1.5 degrees up front on the street and when I go to the track, I max them out which puts me right around -4 degrees.

Ride is good. I have my rears on full stiff so the ride isn't exactly luxurious but it isn't sloppy. It's firm and the car is extremely responsive. Corners flat with minimal roll. Still feels pretty well planted too. It doesn't get twitchy or squirrelly when driving around.

In short, they're great. For the money, I feel like they're the best you can buy. KW V3s are amazing but more expensive. My dad has a personal connection through them so I would have been able to get V3s for just over $2,000 shipped but that's still $1,000 more than Stance. For what I use the car for, the Stance coils are perfect

thanks for the input and why would you have such negative camber for track? I never got why cars needed more negative camber for track.

I run more negative camber because it helps with turn in and more responsive steering and front end grip when sideways.

Let's say you run -0.5 camber on the front wheels. When your car sits, the wheels are straight up and down like this: l l

When you're drifting a right handed corner, the weight is transferred to the outside of the vehicle (in this case, the left), so more of the weight is on the left tires. As you wheels countersteer to the left, the leading edge wheel gains more positive camber, while your trailing edge wheel gains more negative camber, so your wheels at full lock would look like this: \ \

Running more negative camber up front means your leading edge wheel will be closer to 0 camber at full lock which means more tire is in contact with the ground. More contact patch and more grip. With negative camber up front, your wheels at full lock will be more like this: l \ It's the same reason a lot of the pros actually run POSITIVE camber in the rear. Because on throttle, the rear end squats which naturally causes the wheels to gain negative camber which would equal to about 0 under throttle. So, the cars are actually setup to have more tire on the ground when they're full throttle and fully sideways.

The amount of grip a car has in the competition drifting, the competitive the car is. You don't need to set your car up that way. It comes to personal preference. I just prefer my cars setup in a similar manner.

If you look at some pictures of cars at full lock or near full lock, you can really see the alignment of the front wheels and the differences. My explanation probably doesn't illustrate it that well haha

Glad I could help.

Nothing big going on right now. Got the axle taken care of, rear fenders rolled, and the jdm Toyota and GT86 badges ordered.

Also finished my tail light. Went over them with another coat of red and laid some clear coat down. Then buffed and polished so now they look amazing.

Next up is getting the LCAs and getting the alignment done. After that, tires and more drifting

So, my old Subaru got destroyed by the new owner. The guy didn't even own it for a month and, from the story I was given, his carelessness is the cause of this

^^^^that's so lame....btw great explanation of drift camber, I'd always wondered about the rear camber settings. Don't some people run negative camber in the rear to help underpowered cars?

Yeah but I see more people increase tire pressure or stiffening the rear suspension to help induce more oversteer while still keeping a good contact patch in the rear end.

I'll go to about -1 degree. If I was making in the 300s to the wheels, I'd get as close to 0 as possible

Not much has changed.

How the car should have come:

Toyota and GT86 badges in finally.

Got a few other minor changes cosmetically but nothing special. Sorry for the crappy quality picture. I need to get the software uploaded so I can use my DSLR.

Upcoming next week:

SPC LCA's
Works Bell Hub
Personal Neo Grinta 350mm Black/Red Leather Steering Wheel
Alignment
More tires
More sideways

Thanks! Unfortunately, I'm in the field all week so no more pictures until next weekend.

I'll make sure to get a few good shots of the car when I come back.

@Snoopyalien24

Managed to come back for a while today and while I was here, I took a couple quick photos and uploaded them as promised.

You can see how low the car is and what the fitment looks like.

I was gonna pull some of the camber out but I know I'm switching to better tires which will help with the rear end grip. That being said, I'm probably just gonna add some spacers to fill the small gap.

Probably some 5mm up front and 15mm bolt ons in the rear.
