^ I agree, you can do a lot of sexy cosmetics and etc to the brz with tth extra money

As it has been confirmed that the WRX won't be offered in a wagon form, I count that as a strike against it but not a big one.

I do love AWD and turbo but it's not a deal breaker for me

The BRZ appeals to me because of what it was built to do. small car, small power, agile as all hell.

and all you have to do is look at the WRX's name to see why it appeals to me,

World
Rally
X-cross

It was built to handle on and off the road; a true purpose-built machine.

overall I think I'll still go for the BRZ, as I'm into nice drives rather than pushing the car at every chance I get.

/2 cents
From everything I heard, 2014 will be basically the same as 2013. It's not until 2015 that the WRX gets a major refresh.

I would choose the BRZ... Me and a co-worker switched cars for a week i gave her my BRZ and she let me use her 2013 WRX. ( The car switch was only because i was going to visit pittsburgh and it was suppose snowing) The WRX was fun but only because it was fast. The handling of the WRX was sub par compared to the BRZ, there was a lot of body roll. The gas consumption also was not that great. It was a fun car but glad i only had it for a week.

^^ What did she think of the BRZ??

Man, that pic really shows how much lower and smaller the BRZ is.. That is what I love about this car, the driving position is just so spot on. Unlike many other "sportscars" where you feel like you are just sitting in a tuned sedan..

When my Legacy was totaled last month, I test drove the '13 BRZ and '13 WRX back to back. It was no contest. The BRZ stole my heart. After driving the BRZ, the WRX felt like a really fast...minivan. Actually, I wasn't even that impressed with the power.

I bought the BRZ and couldn't be happier with it. I sure will miss my AWD come winter though LOL.

Just get some good snow tires and throw a little weight in the back. I have watched AWD vechicles that were overconfident end up in the ditch while I drove right by them in a RWD car with dedicated snow tires. Tires make way more difference than AWD.

She loved my BRZ. Every once in a while she convinces me to switch cars with her for a day. She told me she liked the power of her WRX but she preferred the way the BRZ drives. And she likes that gas didn't hit her pockets as hard while driving my car vs. driving her WRX.

If it weren't for the atrocious (for a four-cylinder) MPG and the general reliability issues with the EJ25, I'd be driving an STi now.

I was in the market for a STI until I caught wind of the BRZ when it was first announce. I waited until they came out, and could not have been happier for waiting. I've driven friend's STI in comparison and they are only fun in the straights. Of course, if AWD is required in your neck of the woods, it would be a different story.

Thats the only thing that really pisses me off about subaru, they show concepts to tease us, well we could build these... But we decided to go more mainstream and nerf all the cool parts but we left the hood scoop for ya, thanks subaru

It's not just Subaru, it's every car manufacturer once the car is put under the knife of the accounting and budget people.

If a car's MSRP is $30K, and ~40% of that is dealer margin + marketing... what car can you build from manufacturer after you factor in R&D and factory costs?

Many people overlook what it takes to actually make a car, and often times a concept gets "nerfed" because the concept as-is is too expensive to mass produce.
