To be quite honest, in this day and age there isn't a difference between push-start ignition and turn-key ignition. Both are electrically controlled, going through sensors and relays. The only difference is the absence of the actual key. That said...I prefer the key.

Well my buddies 2012 Mustang doesn't lock its doors if the key stays inside aswell, but he has no push to start. Little sensor in the key handle which only allows that key and the spare to start the car. No one can make a copy of it and use it to start.

Pretty cool but makes getting another spare a pain and $$$

Just glad it's not a key AND a separate remote fob. I HATE that.

I would pay more for the push start. I do not want the auto-climate crap though. I'm always messing with it.

At least it's not one of those bullshit switchblade fobs the VW kids have to deal with. Such a pointless design not to mention it's kinda big.

What do you mean? Most of my friends own Japanese cars and I myself never owned Euro cars, so don't know what you mean? I thought that was pretty interesting design

Push-button is just one more electronic part to pay for when it malfunctions...I'll take a key any day and the hundred/s of dollars it saved.

Are we sure the push start system in the BRZ automatically comes with Keyless entry and engine start? The worst is when you have to put a key in and then push start the car. BMW got alot of flak for that with their push start button. Redundent system.

I knew a lady at work had an Acura SUV of some kind that had one of those flip-open keys.

it's not a retarded set up like the s2000 where you have to use a key, turn it, and then hit a start button. here, you walk up to your car and it unlocks for you.. you get in and push in the clutch, assuming you drive a proper car, and touch the "go" button. and go.. might not seem like its that great.. but it is.
to me its like going form a pager to a cell phone.. didn't seem so big at that time, but i would never go back.. you 16 year old kids might need to look here, to know what im talking about.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pager
i wouldn't want to pull that ugly key out of my pocket to get in a great looking car..
also, it has nothing to do with being lazy, that's just an ignorant argument.
+1000000

Finally somebody who is telling it like it is!
I guess some people just don't like technology. Maybe they are really still using pagers! Lmao!

Scion if you are reading this, add proximity key with push start to the FR-S as an option!
