after seeing some FRS owners who debadge or rebadge to something else reminds me of the Genesis owners debadge their cars because they're ashamed that it was a "Hyundai", lol. so for those that debadged their "Scion" emblem, are you ashamed of other people viewing your car as a Scion?

Toyota owns lexus and scion so i see counter intuitive arguments for those that think putting lexus badges on is so bad. I think we all need to take away from this that some people are a bit too high strung lol. I still think a Ferrari badge set would be hilarious to have. "OMG IS THAT A FERRARI"? "Yup look at the badges?"

I'm pretty sure the Scion stigma isn't here because I rebadged my frs.. The stigma has existed way before the frs was even a concept and is because all/most other scions are cheap and of terrible qualitiy. If you ever drove an xB you would know why there is a stigma.

Look, I know it sounds like we're ripping on you but, while I won't speak for everyone, I most certainly am not! We're trying to HELP you make an informed decision. Nothing more, nothing less.

I for one could care less if you put Lamborghini, Bentley, Mercedes, Bugatti, or My Little Pony Rainbow Car Factory badges with a 2 foot unicorn horn sticking out of the hood! Just be aware that everyone will be making fun of you and, if you're lucky, people will only make fun of you BEHIND your back!

And that's all I have left to say in this thread! Do whatever you want!

People who rebrand their Genesis Coupe rebrand it to the Genesis badge in Korea. I see nothing wrong with that. It has nothing to do with other brands and still reps Hyundai.

I think no one is ripping me. It's 100% impossible for me to get upset or mad at some other person typing on a forum. This is all fun to me

It's not really the same thing though.. In Japan there is only Toyota and the FR-S is the GT86 in Japan. There is no Lexus association with the FRS besides the fact that Toyota is/owns Lexus here. Rebranding the Toyota makes it more "JDM" ish (I hate using that word) while rebranding to Lexus I have no idea why someone would do that.

I was not specifically talking about people rebadging their FR-S...I was talking about the mentality that would lead people to rebadge their car in the first place. Same as when people were rebadging the xB as the bB or the xA as the IST. Or replacing Acura badges with Honda badges, or branding their civics with "Type R". It all stems from the same mentality...and that mentality is what gives the brand a bad stigma (or at least a contributing factor).

FWIW, I felt the same way when I bought my xA back in 2005, and when I had various Acuras/Hondas earlier than that. I just don't get the reasoning behind it, and nobody has ever explained it in a convincing matter...always ends up in a circular argument.

"Why did you replace badge X with badge Y?"
"Because it's brand Y in Japan"
"But you live in the midwest, and the car is actually brand X"
"But brand X is stupid"
"But you bought brand X..."
"No, because it's brand Y in Japan"

And on and on and on

Lexus is a joke everywhere in the world except the U.S. and Asia. Nobody buys Lexus cars in Europe; they buy real luxury cars. Putting Lexus badges on an FR-S is arguably worse than the Scion badges they were shipped with.

I got a parking ticket (meter was paid; DC meter maid slapped with $50 fine for no front license plate) dismissed as the license plate frame says "Toyota" and the parking jockey wrote the car up as a "Toyota FR-S". I sent in copies of my registration and insurance card showing that the car is NOT a "Toyota".

Therefore, I'm thinking of putting a Toyota badge on the back to make more likely any tickets are written up incorrectly.

The difference is, debadging a Genesis Coupe still leaves it a piece of shit without a badge, while debadging an FRS doesn't change the fact that the car itself will always be superior to any GC.

Ok, for any idiot that would want to do a Ferrari Rebadge of any car. get the placement right. Cavallino Rampante (CR/Prancing Horse Chrome Emblem) in the correct spot and also the Yellow Vertical CR goes on the Hood/Top of Front Bumper, and another Chrome CR in the grill. and Scuderia badges (Big Yellow Shields) go on the fenders. Also the pininfarina badge either on the lower fender or lower QP. But then again, this idiot put Ferrari badges on a Scion. I don't know, my OCD kicked in and i had to rant about placement of badges.....So if your gonna fake it, fake it correctly.
