You just listed out a bunch of cars that changed greatly over long time cycles. The op isnt waiting for the next generation of the car to come out.

While you may feel all those cars got worse, you didn't bother pointing out why you feel they are not as good. Once again, as a disinterested party, I feel that nearly everything you listed has gotten better in any measurable category. You didn't do a good job making your point or rationalizing your argument. :happy0180:

Because there no point to, the person over blew my topic of "interest"

He thought i said every car ever made is going to get worse through time, when i was simply pointing out that some cars do get worse through time and some don't.

The new MX-5 is more heavy, less driver oriented then the early ones.

The 3 series is less driver oriented as well, before it was a luxury "drivers car", now you could argue its just a luxury car. The number of the 3 series being sold are dropping, i'd argue because the old ones were better.

The mustang and most muscle cars got worse after 73 due to the gas crisis, this shows that sometimes world events can change cars for better or worse, in this case, worse. That poster then compared handling and power, which is something i wasn't even touching on at the moment, of course a modern day car is going to handle then a 40 year old car, thats plain god damn sense. And muscle cars aren't even about handling, who the hell buys a muscle cars for corners?

Which is why the OP should just take some "brave pills" and buy the car, because no one here really does know the future of this car or hoo the 2nd gen (if there is one) will be like.

Did i satisfy your damn "parties"?

So what your saying is there is no reason not to wait for the 2014.

You're missing the fact that we're not talking about an updated model but the incremental MY improvements.

When ever you're ready, gimme a holler!
The chances that the 2014 will be available in May is about as likely as a turbo BRZ STi version coming out this summer....

Ion Redline 04-07

'05 Ion Redline introduced a "Competition Package" that included a boost gauge, gunmetal wheels, and an LSD.*

'07 Ion Redline axed the Recaros due to some bs about the passenger airbag sensor.

You win some, you lose some.

Would you like to make a friendly bet?

For reference, All of our recent Factory Orders are now showing an April ETA. This goes against what my Distribution Office stated months ago (about specific orders) but it's also fairly in-line with when they described the MY change over.

I would love for this to be the case, its just that the only news that I heard was to look for mid to late June availability at the earliest. If the 2014 BRZ is going to be on lots in May, then that is great news!

Unless your car is unsafe to drive, wait. An order placed now is going to take a few months to arrive. An order placed in say 2 months for a 2014 with the incremental improvements means you are looking at an extra 2 month wait. I wouldn't roll the dice now on the assumption that no significant incremental improvements are going to happen next model year, given the on-the-record comments by the Toyota chief GT86 engineer that they plan to follow the GTR practice of incremental yearly upgrades.

It's not certain but I'm willing to bet it'll be here in May.

I've got a year long bet with one of the guys at my store that the 2014 Outback will have some changes. Only time will tell.

Either way, 3,4,5 months away. It's not that far off. If the OP can wait, then wait. Even if they only change a lug nut, something will change.

If you're like me and you just wanna drive the car, buy it.

I really really want to wait, but my old integra is going at 240k miles. I don't know how much more it can take before something else breaks again.

I think the hardest part of this is the fear that something you want comes on the car, or something unknown is fixed. because you can never be to sure these days, for example that MY12 civic, MY13 is a much better car. And not to mention all these recalls happening left and right these day. Its so hard to be an informed buyer.

Wait for the 2014.
By the time you get the car, Fast Six would already be out and the whole world would already know what a BRZ is. So yeah, you probably wont get that "wow wth is that!?" factor like those early adopters would. But at least you still own a newer car that should fix the first year model's miscues.

I put an order for my 2013 in March of 2012, you never know
