so why are people leaning towards vortec so much is it because the brand or because it kills the torque on the car?

Reliable, easy to install, good price, keeps the same power curve as stock, just more of it, less heat, no oil lines to tap into the engine...

Reliability & warranty. I don't need or want huge power, just more power. I am OK with paying a premium for quality and reliability.

Thanks for this thread, I was starting to think something was wrong with the innovative sc as it seemed (to me anyway) most were obsessing in the Vortech thread. No one was able to tell me why Vortech would be a better choice than the Innovative sc. Now that I see these results, I feel more comfortable in my choice (after final results, testing and price)

Message to all venders, CARB = more sales

Cost no object: D3PE (beautifully done kit, like the placement of the turbo).

Realistically: Avo kit, because of the price as well as because of the 'stealth' factor.

A previous poster had it right though: by the time you add in all the extras such as gauges, a full 3 inch exhaust and possibly boost controllers (although it seems that most kits come with boost control solutions) you'll likely be paying a grand or so more above any of he retail kit prices by the time you're fully up and running.

Also, possible cooling issues with both SC and turbo kits in 'extreme' track conditions need to be better tested, documented and resolved by real world end users before I buy anything. I'm guessing that an upgraded radiator, oil cooler and fans will become must-haves for the track F/I guys regardless of turbo or S/C.

Innovate for me so far because how easy it is to install compared to the others. And had turbo for the past 6 years. Want something different.

Ok I will admit that i was a little skeptical about where my turbo kit would get oil from, but there is no tapping anything...well you do get a new oil pan with a fitting welded on for the drain line from the turbo but as for the supply...the engine apparently was designed for a turbo because there is a capped oil supply port on the block:

Right here: Sexy right?

Innovate if they ever release power numbers. Could be TRD also if price and numbers are good.

It is sexy

I wouldn't mind running an oil line if I needed to. Plenty of S/C's need an oil line run to them as well. See Litchfield.

I think you'll be equally amazed by P&Ls quality, all I have to say is that everything is perfect on it, the welds, the coating, the fittings...everything oozes quality. Now the turbo placement might not be for you but I like the location alot!

As for other bits and pieces you need for a turbo kit: Full exhaust, EcuTek cable/license/tune, Wideband A/F gauge/sensor, electronic boost controller (some kits come with a manual boost controller but thats not ideal), gauge mounts, fresh oil, performance clutch, oil cooler, and fans. Thats just off the top of my head. Sure you can slap any of these kits on and it willrun, but you'll end up needing most of this inthe long run.
