200ftlbs is where this car needed to be from the factory. At least 170wtq and I wouldn't be thinking about FI.

Q: Is nitrous legal?
A: It is 100% legal in all states to have nitrous installed on your vehicle. Actually using nitrous may be illegal in certain states (of course you would have to do something to get noticed in the first place). Nitrous will also not affect emissions while it is not in use (you will still pass smog tests).

I have always called it NOS and will keep calling it NOS. Everyone understand what the thread is about.

But I understand where you are coming from.

I just sent fa20club an email, I think with ecutek he can make a map that would be able to be safe for nos use. Basically similar to my current flash I have E85 on map 4 and if I could get map 3 set up with timing and fueling adjustments to make the nitrous kit safe I might try this.

Nitrous isn't flammable, you wont blow up lmao

Nitrous is a viable form of forced induction, a lot of these comments are why people talk down to it and why people dont take it seriously.

Hmm what would happen with nitrous + e85? Just curious I'm sure there are some drag cars running both.

From my limited experience with nitrous I remember it being a bit evil on plugs. Friends used to replace plugs every 6k or so and I've rebuilt motors when thy didn't (plug breaking apart damaging valves, cylinder walls, etc). Is that fairly normal with nitrous?

Nitrous works but its never been worth the hassle and the power curve is way too abruptly changing for track use IMO.

I ran nitrous for three years in my old Probe GT. I never had plug issues. However, I did check them on a regular basis, and ran the correct heat range. I started spraying at 130k and sold the car with 165k. I was only running a 75 shot, which was about max for the stock fuel system and tune. I absolutely loved it to be honest. Would I have rather had a type of FI that I could have on tap all the time? And use on half throttle as well? Sure. But it was nice to keep the car OEM daily driving, but be able to have great power when I wanted. The torque is amazing, and it pulls all the way to redline. But I agree with you Dave, not sure if it would be the best option for people who track theirs.

This ^^^ I also think that would be a slick setup.

Indeed. I have my spare and tools and board out of the trunk. I can fit alot more back there. It really does make a big difference.
