The throttle maps are completely different though for those 2 "modes", enough that it would be very obvious, not a " I think I can feel a difference " kind of thing. The VSC buttons do not affect throttle response.

I like pushing buttons to :-)

My butt dyno must be better calibrated and thus able to notice the difference.

You wouldn't need a decent butt dyno to be able to tell the difference. The only "SI Sport" labelled tables are to do with throttle mapping. Actually to be precise it's the accelerator pedal to desired torque tables. These then look up a separate torque to throttle angle table. Anyway here are the 2 tables:

That's quite a big difference, that'd be very noticeable not a "I think I can feel a difference".

I agree that the difference when the sport mode is engaged is subtle, at best. And I also agree that the "SI Sport" table is hugely different from the normal one.
But then what does that mean? The "SI Sport" is never used?

What myself and @Kodename47 are saying is that their is a huge difference in the throttle tables so if in fact these tables were switched when you pushed the VSC sport button there would be a huge difference in throttle response. when in fact there is not.

What we suspect is these tables are for normal and limp home/safe mode when the ecu detects a sensor or other problem and not in fact used for "sport", or they maybe just not used at all

Their are also cam timing tables for normal and safe mode and ignition tables for normal and safe.

In romraider these are labeled A and B with no reference to "sport" his tables are from Ecutek definitions

Any difference you feel may be just the less intrusive traction and stability control in "sport" mode this can actually slow or limit throttle response when slip or loss of traction detected as well as apply individual brakes

Ha yes, that explanation I can buy. Because I seriously feel no difference when the sport mode is engaged, and the "limp vs normal" explanation makes a lot more sense to me.

I'm pretty sure the "SI sport"/#2 is what the ECU usually uses as it ties in better with the other DBW tables. Table #1 looks more aggressive though, the torque request at low throttle and low pedal % is quite high, so I would guess that it's not used. Maybe a cruise map?

reckon that SI drive stuff is possibly a hangover from legacy's definition
