Swastika? No, even after people have mentioned that there's a vague resemblance, I haven't been able to see it. I've never been able to get those "magic eye" puzzles either.

On the other hand, when I looked at the logo for the very first time, I saw the SS and thought "WTF?" before i realized it was an 86.

Okay, maybe not silly, but still annoying to hear how people are actually berating the drivers of this car because they think they see a swastika. I guess this stuff just happens though. I will say this, no one has said mine looks like a swastika or an SS yet, but pretty much everyone I've shown it to has asked what it is, which I enjoy because it's nice to be able to explain the history of the car, and the quirks of the creators with the borexstroke and exhaust diameter.

Yeah I never noticed it before, but after someone on this forum pointed it out, I can see it now.

Out of curiosity I tried this. Not sure it helps. See poor MS Paint version attached...

Ignorant.
please tell me how ignorance applies in this situation? ignorant of what? merely pointing out that at a glance, some seem to think the emblem resembles a swastika, and i thought this was an appropriate forum to gauge other 86 owners responses.... ignorance has nothing to do with it.

You really think ignorance has nothing to do with someone wondering if that is a swastika symbol on your brand new japanese car? Either they cant see straight, the dont know what a swastika looks like, or they are just dumb as rocks.

If someone asked me if that was a swastika on my car I would give them a weird look and ask if thats a swastika on their forehead.

of course no one seriously thinks in their right mind that they would put a swastika on the side of a car.......thats not what i was alluding to what-so-ever. merely that some people think the emblem RESEMBLES a swastika. kind of thought that went without saying

Maybe I'm a dummy, but I didn't know what Swastika was until I googled the term soon after I discovered this thread.

I don't know what to say... I feel the emblem enhances the car's 'coolness', if anything. I try not to complicate my mind, therefore I look at it positively.

It is just not the best design I just thought it was a symbol of some sort and never paid attention to it at the dealer but when I got home I had to look it up because it still wasn't clear to me if it was 86 or a symbol of some kind

I mean I can see it per picture below. But we all obviously know there were none of those intentions. I remember seeing a video where the 86 logo for this car was originally not slanted (italicized) but they implemented it to resemble the car drifting.

Exactly. I can easily see it, but then again I'm a card carrying Nazi...so...

SS is in front of plenty of things as an acronym.
S.S. Minnow = Steam Ship that one still confuses me since the minnow was as big as a row boat on TV
SS= Scout/Sniper my former profession. Semper Fi
SS= Schutzstaffel which translates to Protective Squad / Praetorian Guards

People are going to see what they want, I just heard that the Monster logo M is made up of the Hebrew emblem hav three time hav=6
What I dont understand is how this.

equals this ( I felt bad for my brothers on this one )

Or how this

Equals this.

Food for thought
