There's no problem until you mess up and maybe hit somebody or something you didn't expect to be there. The issue is that you qualify yourself as a capable driver. You may very well be capable since you say you were drifting before you got your license. You might just be the next big thing, holy keeper of the slide beasts. Or you might be that guy who had a CRX and put his FR-S into a pole because his anecdotal skills didn't pan out that day.

Either way, I've drawn this out a bit much; you live very far away from me so your driving is no physical danger to me regardless of what you do. I want to advise you to keep your experiments on a sanctioned track and away from anyone else, but that's up to you as I'm not qualified to tell you to behave. I still think that when you do get an FR-S or any FR car, you'd be better off learning car control at speed (on a track) with the original tires, or doing donuts around a parking cone rather than daily driving around with donuts on the drive wheels.
I get your concern. But you really don't seem to get the concept if low grip driving. Based on your posts there is no way for me write an reply to make you understand since you are so far from the opposite side of understanding. (not hard to tell from you posts here) No problem in that. Most people don't get it.
And don't try do generalize me as some tokyo drift young fanboy in his current FWD hatch who wants to become a drift champion. You clearly don't know me, my driving style, my taste, my driving skill (low or high),what cars I come from or what roads I drive on or the conditions of the roads through the year. And when combining that with the obvious thing that you don't get the philosophy of this thread, just makes your you typing all wrong the way it is directed towards me. Talking about lunch trays under wheels just show how little and far of your understanding is.
But thanks for your concern, you probably mean it well! (that is serious, no irony)

Nope, but I sure have driven one in both drizzly and wet conditions.
Great fun! Gotta love the handling and tires.

That is the thing. With lower grip tires you would not have to work that much and it would be even smoother, easier and safer at lower speeds. (I am of course not talking about bad tires, worn out tires, slicks or something like that in rainy conditions)
The tires and balance of the FR-S is very drift friendly tough.

_______

Here is an example of low grip fun at my local track. Some skinny used tires at the back. Not me driving, its a policeman behind the wheel.

Car slips quite effortlessly.

But even with bad summer tires on the rear you really have to work the car hard to be able to drift on a track if you don't have extreme power in dry conditions. Most cars don't deal that well with this kind of long term "abuse". At least if you plan to daily drive the same car. Lowering the grip would just make it easier, safer and much better for the car. But I have a bad feeling that even the tires I mentioned in my first thread have more grip than the older half-worn narrow stock eco-tires used by the "Warsteiner E30" in the video below.

Enjoy :
