Meh, anyone who expects a great kit from TRD is dreaming. It'll add maybe 30 hp at most and be lackluster and over priced. Rather go with an aftermarket brand.

Don't get me wrong, the kit will work well for anyone looking to receive modest power. However, you're going to pay a premium to have a dealer install it to retain the warranty, unless there is a certified toyota mechanic that works for a small shop around the area.

the supercharger on the scion TC was designed to give people headaches.

I have an FR-S and I'm gonna be honest, I'm new to Toyota/Subaru. I don't have as much knowledge as I'd like but I do remember a buddy of mine paying for the TRD SC on his tC years ago. It was a big disappointment for how much he paid and how little he got in return.
Is this typical? I'd like to see this SC put down at the very least 250 to the wheels.

Really just because they put a 10WHP sticker on the car does that validate the product, Really look at what they are charging for their exhaust. This and their history with the Scion TC and the TRD SC for the Tacoma are massive fail.

I know the TRD Supercharger on the Tundra makes some pretty big power numbers, i know it's an entirely different application but hopefully things have changed for the better and it will be worthwhile, i'm not holding my breath on this one though.

My guess is the kit will be between $7,000 and $,8000 plus install. I think the Vortech will be about $6,000 since that is what the S2k and 350Z kits cost from them. I would expect TRD to cost more than that.

Interesting. I obviously had much better results, which makes no sense if they are supposed to operate the same. What kind of dyno was he using? Was it installed by the dealer?

some cars just don't like it. dealer installed, baseline dyno was 155 iirc and 177 after the kit, same day roughly the same temps. dyno dynamics iirc. the dyno is a heart breaker my S2k made 428whp and made ~470 on the dynojet at a different shop.
