Ok, I did this a bit different, I pulled a jumper wire from the power out pin of the DRL relay under the hood then routed that power to the input of the power wire to the headlight height adjustment and that powers up the Halo's, side markers and tails any time the DRL's are on, and this also powers the DRL's any time the other lights are on.

Next time I get a chance I will be routing that power to the + side of the Halo's only right at the connector to the headlight assy. then I will install a Diode to block the power from getting to the rest of the lights and the dim relay so the result should be halo's and DRL's on any time the car is on. This will have to wait until I have another weekend with nothing else to do.

So here's a recap:
1) I added a wire to pin 50 of connector 3A on the back of the 'body integrated unit'.
2) Grounded that wire through an ignition-switched relay (tapped into one of the fuses on the bottom of the 'body integrated unit' for a source of ignition).

Results:
Halo lights (and all other parking markers) come on with ignition, stay on no matter what position the headlight stalk is in. Headlights work.
However, triggering tail relay seems to be what's controlling the dimming feature of the navigation unit in "headlight" mode. So by having halos on navi unit is sent into night mode. Which is really unfortunate (although not unexpected now that I think about it), since navi going into night mode is a major annoyance cause the unit can't seem to read/calculate sunrise/sunset time off the GPS network.

If I pull the fuse in the "panel" line on the diagram above, the navi stays in day mode; so I think if I turn that fuse into a relay that switches on with actual headlights it's gonna be fine. Gonna see if there's a way to do it.
Couldn't you just put a diode on the original halo power wire?

Nevermind, I read that wrong. I thought you were splicing in power to the halos and it was backfeeding and triggering the night mode. Nothing to see here.

I am confused of what's going on here. Are you making the halo's (boomerang) a separate entity? I just switch my headlights knob forward so I only have the halo and DRLs...whats so hard about that.

This switches Nav/stereo to NIGHT mode. Would be nice to have those lights always on

So this mod is done. Also the drl's are now on even when the headlights come on.

Just go into info, then settings then scroll down and put your dimming on time or Manuel on your head unit then you dont have dimming or night mode when you roll the knob once for them to be on in daytime

Any chance you could add pictures or video on how to do this? Sounds simple but I dont want to screw anything up.

Much thanks

The center aft brown relay is the DRL relay find the power out pin and solder your jumper wire to that post as near to the body of the relay as possible. Take that wire and splice into the power input of the halo as shown in pictures.
