i just tried it on my 2012 sti caliper. The allen is a T30 torx and i used a 11mm socket for the bleeder side. It wasnt that bad using just a ratchet with the socket and torx bit. but i want to get some more red thread lock before i put the screws/ bleeders back in.

looks good. can't wait to see if this ends up a cosmetic mod or if there is performance to be gained. keep us updated.

also, did anyone find out the brake bias on the WRX from which these brakes originated? perhaps we can ask some friends in a WRX forum?

There might be a slight brake bias, but for a street car most people will be fine. Those who track their car will more than likely pay the money on the proper kits anyways. But to be honest, if you are doing a BBK with the STI Brembos, you should do the rears as well. Should not be too long before adapters come out.

Maybe Phil from Element Tuning will chime in he has been running the STI Brembos for months now including doing time attack events with them, etc.

Indeed. Perhaps someone that knows him can send a PM with a link to this thread? If this ends up working as an actual performance upgrade... man that would be sweet. I know there have been a lot of doubters in this regard because of all the variables involved when doing a swap like this. I assume the guys that race their cars are lurking around here, waiting to give us a technical brake dissertation....

Can't wait to hear from Phil on this matter.

I haven't tried it yet... but Evo brembo's are mounted the same way the BRZ calipers are. I am guessing they will be straight bolt on, no bleeder swap necessary.

ps: this method worked for me. some ppl might find other ways. you will need a snapon 5mm allen socket. other socket have slight play. even with the snap on i felt the edges starting to round so i stop and used impact hammer. (the impact hammer i use is made by snapon and i was able to just my own speed hence easy on the trigger )
awesome, thanks. sounds like you need 3 hands to do all that.. lol
