That is commitment!

I predict a bad connection between engine and chassis harnesses.

Edit: NVM... I'm repeating myself.

Still!... Go Ron, Go!

Ron says the sensor is bad. He swapped B1/B2 and, this time the code followed the sensor. He put the "bad" sensor in his car and got the code. He's been driving my car around with no cel.

Here what I think happened:

When the code popped up, I swapped the intake cam sensors. Still had the P0341.

I then put in a new, Beck Arnley, sensor from RockAuto. Still had the code.

I found a short in the plug to the sensor. I replaced the plug and rechecked continuity but I still had the code.

So, IMHO, the short was the original problem. I compounded the issue by installing a new but defective sensor.

Or, Gremlins

No gremlins. Your conclusion makes sense. This is a lesson in logical troubleshooting learned the hard way. I am responsible for neglecting to ask for more details when you first reported things you tried.

Make only one change at a time between functional tests. I bet you and Ron had the talk. It's a big one.

I hear what you are saying, but what are the odds of a sensor being bad, right out of the box, still in it's unopened plastic bubble?

I don't know the specific number but I would say around 5%. Electronic devices have a failure rate but I doubt you'll get any of the manufacturers to tell you what their numbers are.

Way more often than one would hope. Not only is it a crap shoot from the start, but I also wait for new "devices" to fail soon after being placed into service.

Simple mechanical parts are one thing but my trust goes down with assemblies, and even lower with electronic devices.
