Is it me, or does that stretch on the tire look ridiculously dangerous to some of you?

I have 225/40s on 9.5" wheels also and I've put ALOT of miles on them. It has a secure seal around the bead and I see nothing wrong with this practice as long as it's within reason. I mean, don't try to fit a 205 on a 10.5" wide wheel. 225s on a 9.5" is pretty common, and not rediculous at all.

This is neither here, nor there. Talking about tire stretching could easily derail the OP's thread, and I think his beautiful car deserves to not have that happen.

OP, you said you could go lower on the coils. Could you lower it all the way so we could see exactly how low is possible? It looks like you have the tire clearance.

225's on a 9.5 is a lot of stretch, but it's not unsafe. It's actually not even that aggresive compared to many in the hellaflush crowd.

Personally.. I'd run 245's.. I prefer a mild stretch, but I don't like the rubber pulling away from the edge of the rim. More than that though.. I want the traction you get from more rubber.. Still... just my personal opinion.. which will certainly differ from most people..

As for the wheels and drop on this car.. AWESOME!!!! I love it!

How's the performance aspect? Fuel Economy? Does it feel heavier?

What a nice setup. Good job. I don't think I would do 9.5 width but it looks killer.

Even with the stretched tires everyone is complaining about, it still handles better than stock (no surprise with Prius tires).

I did the suspension and wheels at the same time, so I didn't get to really feel the car with just the wheels, but it feels pretty much to same to me. Speeds under 5mph, you can fill they are a bit heavier, but once you pass that threshold, you don't notice.

Fuel Economy is roughly the same. Prior to the suspension/wheels, I was getting between 29 to 31mpg each fill up. I am getting the same figures now.

Rear could drop another 1/2 inch, front about 1/8 inch. I am going to keep it where it is for now because this is my daily driver, and having about 6 inches of clearance is perfect for the streets here in Albuquerque.

Great. The dampening is perfect. Even though it is a little stiffer, it feels perfectly fine on my daily commute through roads that haven't been repaved for the last 30 years.

Here is a video (the smack talking is just a joke) that shows the car in motion.

Are you running the 'default'/natural camber or did you also install camber bolts or something?

Natural camber. BC coilovers come with camber plates in the front, but haven't used them yet.

nice video, i like the eleanor rigby tune haha. the wheels look great man , im happy to see some people doing aggressive all around rather than staggered . im curious to see how much lower these can go on the BC coils . Does the front poke out a little more than the rear? im sure its nothing a small spacer can fix
