I certainly hope the stock seats are comfortable and supportive. I don't want to buy seats unless I absolutely HAVE to.
If I do, I'll definitely be looking towards Recaros, hopefully they'll make some for the car in Japan. And if there aren't any designed for the FT, then I'll just choose 'em in red a la Honda Type R style. White car, black rims, red seats = my favorite.

If that Subie news is true, Toyota better step up their game and offer a TRD turbo/blower...

I think it'd be better if Toyota simply put in different internals to make it more rev happy and pure NA. It might not be as fast, but at least it will be a reasonable alternative to the boosted Subaru unicorn (because that's what it is right now). Why make two different boosted cars, unless both employ the same turbo system?

Let subaru weigh down their car with all the AWD junk they want, you'll get a lighter platform with the FT-86 that you can mod the engine to all hell out and be just as fine. |

The sound and feel of a well tuned NA engine far exceeds any fun experience I've had in a turbo car. Sure, the turbo will shove you into your seat and take you for a hell ride, but tuned NA's just have a luster about them that makes it worth sacrificing low-end torque for a high rev power peak. Its all personal preference really. Hopefully Toyota will remember this car is modeled after the AE86, and will bring with it all the things that made the AE86 an extremely loved and enjoyed cult classic among car enthusiasts. |

Although I hope if they do it's a roots blower and not a centrifugal one... Oh, yeah -- there was a version of the MR2 that also came with a TRD S/C!

That's just it. Nobody has come out and really said anything official yet. I'm all for waiting a few years for the car; I just want to know what it is I'm waiting for.

As a 4A-GE junky, I'm well aware of the 1st gen AW11 that came factory with a supercharger (4A-GZE, Z designation on the engine code), but it wasn't an option from TRD. If so, I didn't know they had a S/C option for the convertibles. Cool! I always liked how that car handled/felt. Just needed a little more umph. Edit: for clarity |

A roots-type charger would be great! The current line of TRD chargers are complete (new injectors, ecu update, etc) unlike the 4.7 2UZ/3.4 5VZ s/c of yesteryear (bolt on blower with piggy back ECU, optional 7th/9th injector kits released down the line to fix issues). The centrifugal one used in the 2.4L 2AZ (Scion tC/xB2) was great for the price ($2000./$3000.) but had issues w/ one of the brackets breaking. It added enough power so you can enjoy it, but was a complete waste to add to automatic vehicles (no redline increase for AT). The current roots-type in the 4.0L (Tacoma/FJ) and the 5.7L (Tundra/Sequoia) are great. We've sold quite a few of both any everyone comes back with the same smile they left with once it was installed ![]() A TRD Edition would be great to see, but I doubt a factory supercharged version will fly... unless it's toward the end of the product life cycle and they are clearing the parts inventory by creating a "special-clear our parts bins out-edition"

But I gotta agree with White Comet, Internal upgrade will be nice (like TRD Altezza not the Turbo kit, but the NA version). Turbo stuff can give it to STI, Prodrive, Crawford and blah blah blah. |
