Yeah but what about a 11' Stang GT with Brembos, or STI and EVO with Brembos or perhaps the GenCoupe RSpec with Brembos. The 370Z is a dog, I don't know why people keep using that car as a benchmark, it looks good on paper but real world says otherwise.

Not using it as a benchmark, just pointing out that just because there's a Brembo decal it doesn't mean it's the best option, especially considering the watered-down kits production vehicles tend to get.

I'm saying I rather have those watered down production kits, so If I want to upgrade to better pieces from Brembo, Akebono, Wilwood or Project Mu it's going to be easier to bolt on versus getting a whole new kit for more $$. Some of you tend to forget the upgradable parts, just like getting a 200hp turbo car and being able to swap in a DBB GT28R for 50% more power and better spool for only $1100 versus spending the same amount of money for n/a and only getting a 5% increase.

Yeah but now you are talking aftermarket upgrades. In that same light I've seen people sell their full Brembo setups to upgrade to larger Wilwood setups with more pistons, at a cost of course. I'm just saying I understand the lack of excitement over Brembo as a factory option... 1 because you are paying for the name recognition and not really getting an equivalent of a real Brembo setup, and 2 because their factory kits aren't all they are cracked up to be in the first place, and in some cases are not worthy of their nameplate.
I understand your point though, and I agree with the turbo for upgrade possibilities. It's why I've always shopped the GTI in my last few purchases. Brake wise, I guess it will depend on how good the setup ends up being once shipped.

I guessing that the FRS will be able to use 4 pots, the brakes on the prototypes are a clear indication they've used the plain jane Subaru Impreza type brakes. Bolt pattern will indicate 06'-07' WRX 4pots(5x100) or STI Brembos(5x114.3). Assuming the rotors and caliper brackets have the same spacing.

Yep, I'm kinda hoping they go with something like 5x100.. it seems there's always more wheel options.
I figure if the car comes with an upgraded brake kit and no SS lines, they probably didn't do me any favors.

, not to mention that subaru wheel bearings are crap when you want aggressive offset wheels and run lower on coilovers. 5x114.5 have always had better wheel choices

But you don't even have to put crazy wheels on the car. Take the stock wheels and some hoosier a6 and autocross it, those bearings will loosen up soon enough. 48+ offset is the choice for Subys.

If it is a subaru hub that will be on the 86...it better be similar if not the one from the Impreza STI...as they use 5x114.5 bolt patterns and a beefier wheel bearing.

Pretty sure the 5X100s are gone from Subaru these days.
