That's what Forza 4 & 5 will be for!

Forza is a mere franchise. There are now branches to that franchise: Horizon + Motorsport. Simple!

Turn 10 did not use their existing design/developer team for Horizon. They outsourced to a British firm to design Horizon because the existing Turn 10 Forza team in Redmond supposedly "was too hung up on the importance of simulation", and Horizon is not Forza, it's Turn 10's interpretation of Need for Speed thus the British firm.

The Forza developers, most of them, are still employed at Turn 10 but have nothing to do with Horizon, however I when I pressed the issue with them they would not divulge any secrets, which I take to be a good thing.

There's still hope that Turn 10 hasn't gone down the toilet.

As it's been said...this ISN'T the next Forza Motorsport. It's a SPIN-OFF. An ARCADE spin-off with Forza Physics.

It's developed by the same people who made Dirt. So all of you expecting a "Super-realistic driving experience," wait for FM5.

Oh, and that photo is a faked photoshop. It was proven fake, there's no BRZ 300 in FH.

Really? That sucks, it would have been sick to have the GT300 in FH.

That's slightly misleading. Codemasters made, and continues to make, the Dirt series. Forza Horizon is being developed by Playground Games, which is a fairly new company made up of ex-Codemasters and ex-Bizzare Creations (Project Gotham, Blur) members.

I am not a big video game guy, but the physics in Forza Horizon (the demo atleast) were horrible IMO. The only video game I play is Forza 4. I have always dreamed of driving the cars on the open road -- finally they announced Forza Horizon. Turn 10 said that Horizon would offer the same physics that car enthusiasts loved in Forza 4. They are full of crap! So not only cant I afford a BRZ (in college) but now Forza Horizon has been taken from me! LOL!

^ I agree. Forza is my favorite racing game of all time, and after playing the demo I realized it is just a Turn 10 need for speed. In the off road racing you can bump and scrape walls and other cars all you want and it barely effects your race. I was expecting a off road experience closer to Dirt3. I think Forza 4 is still the best tarmac racing game, but Horizen has a long way to go in terms of making more realistic physics that hardcore race fans can appreciate. There are already plenty of other need for speed clones. If Turn 10 is wasting time on anything other than Forza 5, they should at least keep the physics engine up to par with all their other products.

How can you compare a physics engine running on a racetrack surface versus a physics engine running on 65 different programmed surface types? Well, frankly, you can't. The same physics engine underpins both games, which makes sense because this game was still in development a year before Forza 4 was released, but you have a lot more variables in friction this time around. I'll agree it doesn't feel exactly the same, but based upon the previous statement it shouldn't. The more I play it, the more it feels like a Forza on the road.

Play a real arcade racing game like NFS, Burnout, Blur, whatever, and then the FH demo back to back. It suddenly doesn't really feel like an arcade racer anymore. I felt the same way at first, that it felt vastly different than Forza 4. Then I popped in Burnout Paradise and NFS Hot Pursuit, both of which I hadn't played in a while. Completely different IMO. I'm not sure what your realism/difficulty settings are at, but if I make mistakes in a race on Insane or even Hard, I lose a good bit of time. It's definitely no Blur, where wallriding was the fastest way around the track.

Obviously I'm not going to change anyone's minds if they already have it set in stone that "it's not a Forza Motorsport game." But that's fine, it wasn't meant to be, and it's not. But it does share a lot in common with its sibling. I just think it deserves more of a chance than those writing it off because they tried a demo and already think they know exactly how it should feel, when this is an area that hasn't even been explored in this franchise in the past. No harm done though, I know I'll be enjoying it. And I'll be looking forward to Forza 5 on the next Xbox console.

Bought the collectors edition and all the DLC (yes I'm a sucker) BRZ not in the game, but the FR-S sure has lots of ground effects to pick from - Like a kid in the candy store. (so is my Focus ST)
I also was gifted several cool high level cars for my level in Forza4.
Fun little game to mess around with.

Good game, but the replays are too tight on your car, can not really see you smoke the field in a tweaked out FR-S.
