If I casually knew the person, I'd smilingly say, "Nice parking job"! Either they'd get the hint, or they have visual spacial issues. Or they're slightly offset and you have OCD.

Only exception is if there is a curb (not parking space) on one side. Then, park closest to the curb to give more space on the "line" side to protect your car. I always park in a curb spot if there is one available.

Also, while you are centering the left and right, do it front to back too. What the f@$^ is up with people feeling they have to either hang their nose or tails over the sidewalk up to the tires?

We've had people block the front door of our building doing this to the point where it was difficult to get in and out the building door. Hope they enjoyed the tow fee.

Do you own a valve core tool? That could be fun.

Then when you come out to a keyed car with four flats you can scream "HE DESERVED IT I DIDN'T".
For a bunch of guys that claim to be "enthusiasts" you sure seem to like the idea of messing with other people's cars.
It is very possible that the dude doesn't even realize he is causing an issue since everybody doesn't have some anal consideration on where the car should be.
Some of these retaliatory suggestions for what may be an innocent action boarder on the sociopathic.

What the hell is wrong with a nice note that says - Hi my name is Tcoat and I have the spot beside you. Is it at all possible for you to park a couple of inches further to the right? I know you are within your allotted space but I find it very awkward to access my car when you are right on the line.
Thanks in advance.

guy obviously sucks at parking.

If the guy front parks, and is somewhat on the line, you just back park in your space as close to that same line (maybe touch the line, be a cm off the line, but dont go on the line). That way you have plenty of space to get in and out and he has no space.

This of course would risk your car for a big door ding....unless he has no space to even open a door.

Nothing wrong with this, and is how I would handle it, if I didn't know the guy in person and could just talk to him (first choice).

If that doesn't work, then I'd figure some other way to handle, like getting there before him, or coming in over the weekend and moving the line.

Ok, serious now.

First of all OP, is this a real problem? Do you have problems parking because of these this?

Are the spaces not wide enought? (If so, something to take up with someone else).

Have you had damage to your car because of this?

You have never told us of a problem, other than the internal problem you have with his tires touching the magic line.

Or is this just a problem in your mind because you are some kind of anal about it?

Assigned parking = easy to find out the owner. If it is a real problem, go talk to them. If not, find something else to worry about.
