First of all, I am glad you are okay. Your car can certainly be fixed but it is up to the insurance to decide if they want to fix it or wreck it. Usually somebody buys from auction and fixes it if it is wrecked
Check the video series below to see how such a damage can be fixed.

The car with front damage has more damage than yours. I don't think your engine is damaged. You probably can get away with just replacing the radiators.

OK that is a big plus to reducing the repair costs with or without insurance, Since the body is meant to crumple even low speed crashes can cause horrible appearing damage which isn't actually really expensive to fix. Used parts and non insurance based rates can make a difference.

Looks like a pretty easy fix realistically. Most of the parts for this car are bolt in / off. You may have some minor suspension bits and metal work but nothing looks too bad.

Glad you're ok, sucks when a tree jumps out at you like that.

I have a excellent condition SWP stock hood that I'm trying to sell at the moment. That would save a big number on hood and paint.

Not by the time you got it to California it wouldn't.

Depending on where you are I'd suggest Craigslist or local salvage yards. If you use Craigslist, take a friend and let someone know when and where you're going.

Exchange rate would help but shipping costs for something that size would be through the roof. Now if you cut it up into little pieces...

First off, I suggest you (or a body shop) figure what you need.

Then, jump on Google and get the phone numbers for the many wrecking (junk) yards in Orange County.

Call around to locate the parts and get prices.

Locate and go pick up the part(s) in your buddies pick up truck.

Then either fix it yourself or pay a shop to put it back together.

Do you wanna hear a back-in-the-day story? Anyone?

Well, I see where ol @Tcoat "thanked" my post.

Does that mean that he is encouraging me to tell one of my three back-in-the-day wrecking yard stories - so he can say "you already told that one, humfrz"?

OR

He is thanking me for not forcing another story on you folks?

OR

He is thanking me for at least "asking" before I digressed into another story?
