GT Radial SX2 260TW status report.
Tire Manufactured Mid-2014. 86Cup 0.125pt Stock Class build. Trackdays: 1. Laguna Seca (1:51.2) 4 sessions - 1st place 2. Streets of Willow CW (1:30.01) 4 sessions - 1st place and 86cup record 3. Chuckwalla CW (2:15.6) 4 sessions - 2nd place 4. Buttonwillow 13CW (2:09.3 moist weather ) 5 sessions + 1 session driven by Mike (2:08.3). - 2nd place 18 track sessions with 8k daily canyon miles, barely hit the treadwear indicators. Good for about 2 more trackdays Bought online from tirecrawler.com for around $350(?). Tires did not explode, car did not burn down. Not bad for 260TW tire. Its fine. |

GT Radial recommends a range of 32 to 38psi hot. Personally I keep it on the low end of the range. 32-33.

It was either late 2017 or early 2018. Purchased directly from GT Radial. I'll see if I can find a picture somewhere.

What alignment settings are you running? How are SX2's shoulders holding up?

Stock alignment with camber bolts (-2.0 front).
Outside wearing faster than inside but can't really do anything about it since stock class. Unless I add top hats But they can be run on these settings for up to 7-8 trackdays. [quote=treedodger;3072611]What alignment settings are you running? How are SX2's shoulders holding up? Thanks! Quote:

Results from Round 6 of SoCal 86Cup Laguna Seca:
The second half of the season starts off at a crown jewel track, Laguna Seca baby It was a joint event with our NorCal brothers of 86DRIVE Challenge and visitors from Maryland with a strong showing of 40 twins lapping this legendary track. Stock Class: Everyone ran GT Radial SX2, showing a very strong adoption rate of our pseudo spec tire. Former RE71R user Andy Leszczynsky fell in love with the SX2 on his first outing with it and we expect him to get up to speed once he gets used to the tires 🌽. An action packed battle transpired between Frank Alfaro, Silvio Zucchet and Andy Leszczynsky as they traded laptimes with 0.25 seconds separating them. Eventually Frank emerged quickest to take his fifth podium spot of the season. P2 was secured by Laguna Seca veteran Jeremy Yeung with a 1:51.470. P1 was set early in S2 while conditions are cold with a time of 1:50.87. Street Class: A close battle with the Hankook RS4 brothers Jerel N. Natividad (1:49.229) and Aaron Villasenor (1:49.247) separated only by the blink of an eye!! So close! Michael Green is the fastest SX2 runner in Street Class with 1:52.036 capturing the last podium spot. Modified Class: Mike Kang leads Mod class and sets an SX2 lap record with 1:47.446. He also gets to go home with an intact front splitter and transmission, so we call that a win. Isamu Kakitani sets 1:50.498 with his first time at Laguna, narrowly missing the T5 wall. Glad you're ok!! P3 was secured by Aaron Gong as he figures out how to shift a manual transmission car and do heel and toe downshifts. Keep working on your tofu skills!! Laguna Seca is always an awesome event and thank you everyone for driving for 5 hours to race with us. Congratulations to everyone!!! Next round is July 28 at Buttonwillow with Speed Ventures. It will be a hot day so be sure to rent garages. http://www.speedventures.com/events/...il.aspx?id=682 |
