Just like that fake Lexus grille is for posers who can't afford a real Lexus. Doesn't matter that they're both Toyota vehicles. It still screams to the world, "I wanted an RC F and couldn't afford it!"

By the way, that Perentti is now kind of collectible because it was so stupid. The fake Lexus grille on an 86 will never be collectible.
There is a big difference between putting on an aftermarket bumper to give your car the illusion of being something it's not compared to wanting a unique bumper that was an OEM option. Stop trying to derail a legitimate thread with your 'opinions'.

That bumper is actually a replica of the 2014-2016 Lexus IS250/200/300/350. RC-F is a whole other echelon.

That wasn't an OEM option. That's the aftermarket AIMGAIN body kit for posers to make their cars look like a more expensive brand in the hope that people will think they have better jobs and more money than they really do.

Sounds like I struck a nerve. Did you put that abomination on your car and try to pretend you were more wealthy?

Isn’t buying a fast looking car that isn’t really that fast telling people the same type of lie?

The main point of this thread is about the CB bumper which was offered from the factory. Obviously you don't like the CB bumper and now you are ranting about the AIMGAIN kit even though the OP didn't have any interest in it.

You didn't strike any nerves, I'm probably one of the few people on here that still has Scion badges on their car. It's just irritating when someone asks a legitimate question and you singlehandedly try to derail the thread because you don't like something.

If you actually made any feeble attempt to pay attention, you'd notice that I didn't bring it up. Jordanwolf posted that pic on the first page (quote below to help you reorient yourself), and I responded to that.

When I was in college there was this overweight fellow with an afro of bright red hair and freckles who had the unfortunate handicap that his voice sounded like the stereotypical Down Syndrome victim, even though he wasn't. He made it worse because he desperately wanted to be everyone's friend, so he would insert himself in conversations by walking right up and interrupting, "WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT HUH?" Then he would proceed to try to participate in the conversation with responses that bore no relation at all to the context. For instance, we'd be discussing the finance problem we had for homework the night before, and he would say, "YEAH THAT'S RIGHT THIS ONE TIME I WAS AT THE MALL WITH MY MOM AND..."

Now I'm reading all your posts in his voice.

I tell everyone who asks if it's fast "nope, not even". It was never intended to be fast, it was designed for the curvy bits. It's OK to have a nicely-styled fast-looking car that is not fast, but adding a stupid "aggressive" face to it adds insult to injury. Toyota seems to know what they are doing, though, since we see here that the difference between "chick car" and "manly race car" is a piece of plastic.

I'm having a hard time understanding how someone who thinks slapping a Lexus butt-ugly Cylon face on an 86 thinks the Cb is ugly. Perhaps "chick car" is right, because the stock 86 sure isn't a racecar, unless you think you need to pretend it is for compensation reasons. I'd buy a Cb in a heartbeat if it was available here. And then I'd spend the money to have a "chick car" that can leave your manly ass in the dust.

I guess I could go this route and add some Aston-Martin badges. Some dumbass might fall for it. Now THIS is a f-ing manliness-validating, penis-signalling RACE CAR.

That bumper has Gary Busey mouth.

I didn't say anything about it being a "manly race car." A potato is gender-neutral until you stick Mrs. Potato Head pieces on it like that drag queen bumper.

I have to agree with you there. They're both butt-ugly, but the Lexus is even worse for being a poser.

Well, I can't speak for anybody else, but I'm pretty sure I'd still make fun of how silly it looks.

Can't disagree. It looks like I'm going to learn plastic body work this summer.

One of the nice things about our cars is there are so many choices and options for personalizing our cars. What looks like Crap to some will ring other's bells. Which is OK. It's all in the eyes of the beholder, right? Just do what you want and enjoy your car.

I don't have a garage. Anybody done body work in the living room? I need to start photoshopping some ideas for all of you to laugh at.

Well no, but one time, back in San Jose, I was living in a two bedroom apartment with a small balcony. I bought an old, solid oak, teachers desk and was refinishing it on the balcony. The neighbors didn't like the sound of the belt sander, so I moved the pieces into the spare bedroom, where I finished sanding and screwing and gluing it back together ....... real good. Then after 5 coats of varnish it looked fantastic!

All was just fine till we went to move ....... you guessed it, even with the legs sawed off, it wouldn't go through the door ......

So, PetrolioBenzina, I suggest you do a lot of photochopping and post your renderings on the forum, in the form of a poll.

Then, you could pick the one that we laugh at the least ......
