It looks bigger than my V1.

Even if it isn't, it gets pretty crowded with a radar detector, toll transponder and now a camera. The smaller the better, and I'm pretty sure there are cameras that take up considerably less real estate on the glass.

Ouch! I've always admired the stealthy look of your car. I'm glad you got it back all shiny and well.

Now there's some Class A advice. I concur wholeheartedly. My Subaru dealer doesn't have a body shop, and since with insurance you have the right to take it anywhere, I took mine to our very prestigious Cadillac dealer where they were fascinated to meet a BRZ for the first time and took tender loving care of it. The three-layer metallic paint matched beautifully. It was around $7500, but just the $250 deductible out of my pocket, so take yours to the Best Place in Town and just let them do it.

P.S.: My second wreck looked just like yours, and the Cadillac-style repair got another A+. Someone else in this thread estimated $7000 for yours, but mine got fixed for about half that.

Good Luck and Best Wishes!

P.P.S: Do you think our cars might attract a little bit too much of the wrong kind of attention?

No, we're just more likely to post about it when stupid people hit us. Hardly anybody would post a pic about his wrecked Camry, because who fucking cares about one less Camry?

Unless of course you go to a Camry forum where there will be 10,000 more "I got hit" posts since there are 10,000 more of them on the road and that is where they post shit. Not weird that we hear about the bad shit with our cars on a forum dedicated to our cars. Good shit posts are rare.
On a related note I did not crash, have warranty denied, receive the wrong part through Amazon, install a heavy battery, be confused over which car to buy, want to be a mercenary, have torque issues, believe that commercials reflect real life or install 2017 rear springs today.

If I had a Camry, I would have cared, I am sure. That car would be one-in-a-million Camry to me.

I searched the word "crash" on a Camry Forum just now. The very first post was a question about whether the insurance adjuster would try to lowball him on the value of the car. As expected, no emotion about the car itself. At all. The next post I found that was actually about crashing the car was from 2007.

You buy an 86 because you love the car. You buy a Camry because you just need affordable transportation. You post on an 86 forum because you love the car. You post on a Camry forum because you bought a used one with a problem and can't figure out how to fix it.

If you crash your 86, you post on the board desperately wanting to know if it can be fixed. If you crash your Camry, you hope it's totaled and drive the rental straight to the dealership to see about picking up another dumpy economy car.

Nobody who buys a Camry gives a crap what they're driving. It's what you buy when you can't really make up your mind about anything else.

OP, glad you're OK. Look on the bright side: your car can always be fixed, and you have everything you need to make sure the truck driver (or their insurance) take care of things.

Truck driver here. That's a massive blind spot in those big semi and dump trucks. Couple that with the small size of the 86 and the light color - white and silver kind of blend in to the road at daytime, and you're practically invisible. That's why I never drive my BRZ near the front-right side of trucks. If you don't really have a choice, like in moderate to heavy traffic, at least keep back near the truck's tandems. That way the trucker can at least catch you in his/her convex mirrors.

I also never drive without my dashcam. Never caught an accident on it yet, but did catch some crazy shit overall: a sheet of ice came off another car and knocked my car mirror clean off and another similar incident where a sheet of ice hit my truck (same day actually), had another truck try to run me off the road (should've sent the video to DOT, but didn't), caught one of our company drivers break a container chassis in half, close call with a dumbass who ran a stop sign, another close call with somebody going the wrong way, a very close call with a complete retard making a right turn from center lane (I was in right lane) with no turn signal, and a bunch of random weird shit like somebody with a wing on their Hummer H3T, a licence plate wedged between the bumper and the trunk, probably some other ones I can't remember.

Moral of the story, trucker's at fault, get a a dashcam.
