I still can't believe we never had Brittish Racing Green as an option.

I've seen an oak green on this forum too.. it looks like VW Golf's 1980's oak green.

These cars look so great in bright colors. I am happy with my Firestorm Red FRS but my next choice would have been a WRB BRZ.

That and an alfa romeo type of red. It would really pat tribute to past sports cars.

Saw one at Des Sources Subaru. It's SO YELLOW it hurts. The dark wheels / paint combo works but the yellow highlights on the seats, really not my cup of tea.
Too bad it's the only way to get the PP in Canada.

I would have bought that color in a minute .... it would have reminded me of my 1970 BRG MG ... ahhhh ... the old days ...

Looked at one at the dealer today. Seems to be a BRZ Limited(?) inside. Had the stripes. 30K. No f-ing thanks. Yet another speshul edition with nothing speshul about it.

Invoking memories of my dad's 1975 TR-6 (BRG, of course), which (on the days it actually started ok) was one of my all time favorites. The vehicle looked and ran (in a good way) like a big old & eager English Bulldog (except for the british racing green which was more kermit / frog than dog).

The BRZ is very like the Triumph GT6 which was a poor man's E Type Jaguar, very poor.

To drive the BRZ reminds me also of the Alfa Romeo GTV6 which I owned for a couple of years.

It's not much more than you paid for your base 86, and it has the nice goodies and will retain it's value better.

Goodies that you are paying for, as well, that work the same as mine do. Its not the best looking orange color, either. T is for Tomato.

Doesn't suprise me there is no green. Green is traditionally a European sports car colour. Same with shades of red like Darth pointed out. They are not trying to pay tribute to sports cars in general but more to their own lineage.

The black, white, grey and silver are generally associated with upscale cars and are the most popular no matter what brand.
The red is very close to historic Japanese cars (and in the past it faded like a son of bitch).
There is an explanation for the orange some place in the Toyota materials. If I recall it had something to do with some famous racecar in the past.
The blues are pretty much a Subaru thing.
The yellows go way back in Japanese car history (pretty sure every 70s Cekica I saw was yellow).
The beige baffled me at first until I noticed how many Lexuses (Lexi?) were that colour. It fits in nicely with the marketing that included expensive exotic cats and diamond ankle brackets.

So although green, teal, purple, etc are not impossible they are not likely either since there really is no history behind them.

So much baggage!! However due to these indoctrinated systems/schemes connecting back to racing in the good ole days we get gems that appear here and there... such as white does really suit Japanese cars, BMW's motorsport stripes on a CSL or BRG on an Lotus Elise (perhaps not!) and silver AMGs etc..

Good thing the trunk on the Twin is small as carrying all this baggage would really blunt the "performance"...

I think that 10-series silver ignition, firestorm red, WRB are the best colors...
I think that orange look better in 2013-2016 models....
