Weird, it's not shown in the diagram. I wonder what (if anything) it is being used for.

We are talking about the FR-S in this topic. You BRZ guys got the cool LED DRLs, but we are stuck with the high-beam at half-power which is just an annoying yellow-ish light.

Well, I pulled it and it didn't turn off the DRLs, so I have no idea!

Well, nobody stopped drooling when I pulled it out, either. Hehe.

So if one was to import and swap in the GT86 HID headlamps to the FR-S, would the LED strip on the top operate as the DRL or would you still get the half power high beams?

I hate DRL's
Makes it unsafe for motorcyclists. A driver see's the light ignores it and still pulls out in front of you as they think your a car moving a a slower speed. It was good for motorcyclist as then drivers knew it was a bike and took more precautionary measures. Now it means nothing. |

Your dealership can shut the DRL's off for you. All they need to do is hook up their tech stream computer. It's under the customizable features. I had my "Car locater" feature turned on today and the tech asked if I wanted the DRL's shut off.
I have a feeling the hard part is going to be finding a dealership that would be willing to do it for you. |
