Kinda of a cool name, and typical of Toyota. Simple name for a simple car?

FR-S doesn't really sound all that bad. I don't think thats something I'd debadge TBH.
I'd take off the Toyota part if they have it on there, keep the cowboy hat (I like that) and leave the FR-S on it. On the Matrix I took off the "Matrix" and the "Toyota" decals and left the XRS on it. |

I like it. FR-S is better than just about any of the names that were rumored.

Another acronym... lame! I guess it can't be that bad and at least it's better than Paseo or Tercel!

something just dawned on me, if they are calling this the FR-S, what will suby call it? I know for a fact now it definitely wont be awd from toyota at all, at least not with the same name, ie celica GT/ST>-Four/Alltrac.
They all were Celica's. |

This thing now has to make me happier than the Zed to be back on my shopping list... C'mon TRD -- offer a turbo version!!! So long as it really is a "*** Rocket Special" (oh, what a feeling -- ha ha ha) and not a "Feels Really Slow" or "Fucking Retarded Sportscar" I'm still in. Still, the chassis layout designation worked better for the MR-2 simply because there are so few MR layout cars, and most (if not all?) are exotics. The MR-2 was sort of a poorman's Ferarri, and even took some styling cues from cars like that. But there are TONS of FR layout cars, and all traditional sports cars have a FR layout. Then again, what's in a name...? |

Umm...who said that the Subaru coupe won't have a a real name, maybe even a cool Japanese one, like the Subaru Sokudo(speed in Japanese) or the Subaru Kaze(wind, of course that some American buyers will have some problems with the name because it may resemble the word kamikaze) or Subaru Netsu(the Japanese word for heat, you know because the car will be really hot), anyway, I'm sure that they will come up with something better then I could, using just google translate and some random words.

Well, this won't be the Impreza Coupe, it will be RWD and probably smaller and it will have it's own distinctive design, I think that they will want to prove that Subaru is much more then just the Impreza.

Which they have been doin' for very long time w Forrester, Legacy & other cars. Impreza doesn't have long history like other Subaru cars (Impreza is 17yrs), while if you compare w Leone/GL (23yrs), Legacy (21yrs), & Justy (+25yrs).
