I plan on staying stock, performance wise, during the 36k warranty period. During that I will tint windows and buy a spare set of head and tail lights to darken the chrome insides.

After that, who knows. I have a Celica Alltrac and a 1980 Corolla for modding. I love the FR-S but there is something to be said about personalizing your vehicle.

Yes, maybe it is "stock" because TRD is Toyota so not really after market parts.
But... on the other hand, since it isn't as it came from the factory so did the dealer just mod my car for me?
But... I didn't ask for those parts they were already on the car (showroom demo for TRD add ons) so is it actually stock after all?
Damn I have even confused myself at this point!
Let's call it "Stock, Phase II"

I am 100% right behind you with my FRS being stock and likely will be till it is paid off. Also like you, it will be the only car I will ever buy new and I am going to take my time modding this car. So far I've replaced the air filter with a K&N because the stock paper one was dirty, bought some Diode Dynamics LED stuff, and I have a 5AD spoiler needing to be painted and mounted. <$100 mods for now. The car will likely stay like this for the next 4 years as it is also my daily driver and it does well at that in stock trim. I don't need two projects as my mr2 is still has not reached its goal.

So for now, my FRS will be bone stock with wet dreams of a turbo setup and all the goodies.
Yeah, I've had projects in the past that I just threw parts at whenever I had extra money. Modifying is fun, but addicting. Considering I'm still financing the car it seems like the extra money would be better spent paying off the rest of the car.

My FR-S had Toyota badges and OEM clear side markers, but that's it. I was planning to keep it stock.

When I'm ready to get another one, I won't even swap badges. I'm keeping it mint. It's more of a sentimental thing that a lot of car enthusiasts will not understand, but definitely respect.

I have an all-stock 91' MR2 with 88k miles and everything is original. No window tints or anything. I love the feeling of driving a stock car that's notorious for being modified.

On the other hand, I love seeing people's projects & tastes, so I'm not a hater at all to the modding game!

I tried to keep mine stock!!
1 month old and I already replaced..
Low beams = HID 4300k
High beams drl = Nokya yellows
License plate lights = super white leds

But thats it! I swear! Lol.
Only things I want is a 35% window tint and wider wheels with sticky rubbers..
Along the lines of 17x9 and 235 series tires... Maybe next year..
So much for staying stock

I'm guessing by the OP's definition my car is stock. Since the only mods I got are basically converting my Monogram FRS into a stock 86 found elsewhere. Meaning I got the 86 mm exhaust tips, the trunk lid liner(how did this not get included on a Monogram!), the underbody panels and I got the EDM badges showing GT86 and Toyota at the rear. The only remaining items left to do are the wheel caps(to be done after winter is over), decide whether to keep the Scion boomerang spoiler and the steering wheel emblem.

I enjoy basic mods... Had a wrangler for 3 years and only did some basics to easily the most modifiable car ever. My brz will only get an intake and exhaust. The spoiler (own a premium) is one from the limited. That might not count. The Rims and tires might not count either.

Owned my FRS for 3 weeks now and have already done some heavy mods:
- Changed license plate frames
- Removed dealership decal

Ok, so I am just a piker. I admit it.

But this forum is an awesome place to hang and learn stuff. There are some serious modders here.

Gotta say, for me, my FRS is incredible stock.

Besides installing the OEM mud flaps and a winter tire/wheel set up my 10-series remains bare bones stock. Tinting the glass would be nice at some point. No mods Partly because this is my DD 12 months a year and partly because I want maximum value when I sell it in a year or two. I have heard that non-modded cars are more highly sought after on the used car market. Definitely want to change trans fluid to Motul or other high quality product. Curious if it will smooth out the 1st-2nd "crunch".

Exactly how I feel. Its definitely a sentiment thing....and I also enjoy seeing peoples projects as well (besides when they swap the tail lights; I love the OEM tail lights)....I didn't mean to come off as a "hater", I just thought I was the only stock guy on the forums.

A year ago you may have been right but there is certainly a trend towards lesser/no mods happening in the last couple of months.
Like I said before though that could change in a hurry once people start to get bored with their new cars.
