But obviously driving is always going to beat watching every time... not sure why that comparison was brought up. |

Now I begin my quest on finding a 240sx or miata for a decent price in my area. Also I plan to do professional racing as a hobbie. |

Dude, I have driven a couple of the autos, but was not in an environment where I could drift them. I bought a manual tonight, and it is rediculously easy to slide, and its by far the easiest car to control in a drift of any I have driven. The manual is better, but the auto is good enough that I bet you could drift one with only a little more practice.
Having said that, I have a HUGE empty parking lot at my shop and some prior experience with stupid car tricks - this is NOT something you want to learn on public streets or close to cars, buildings, poles, etc. You want a huge open area with no obstacles and no cars. |

Where is your shop? I noticed you bought yours at Fort Bend Toyota. That's about 30 mins away from me. Ah, I knew it would cost a bit, but didn't think it would be that costly. There's always autocross ! |

You gotta have another job or in another race (like rally). Cuz every penny gonna go to tires & those tires will be gone faster than you can earn it |

Well I'm double majoring in mechanical and electrical engineering, it would be nice if it nets me enough to actually go pro. Either way, I'll cross that road when I actually get good...or can even drive a manual lol. |
