Your motor blew because the wastegate wasn't installed properly. And you installed it. That's not their fault.

Apparently there was no loctite on the wastegate port plugs and they worked themselves out. Which can happen to bolts. Vibration can cause things to work themselves loose over time. The pic I saw looked like it was a very short bolt with not a lot of thread length, which means it wouldn't take a super long time to fall out, if it were to start coming loose. That also means it would be hard to notice under casual inspection. Which explains how it was able to go for ten days without failure; the plug hadn't come completely out yet.

I've had bolts work themselves loose before. Never a short bolt, and never on anything critical, so I was able to find them when they were only halfway out and nothing had failed. But that's why various instructions and DIYs always say to go back in a few days or a week or whatever and retorque everything.

here's update on my experience:

If you paid for tuning/installation services by PrimeMotoring and got screwed by JR (no support or retuning) you can count on PrimeMotoring stepping in.

PrimeMotoring has refunded me money for tuning.

i'm not taking anyone's side here but obviously you didn't pay attention to that thread or conveniently skipped some posts.

that picture you refer to says that loctite needs to be used for WATER fittings.

here's for you also JDL's post: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...2&postcount=53

also, although jamesm's posts were deleted, other people have posted the same: if there were a proper ecutek overboost protection in place the engine could have been saved.

was your car not safe to drive, has any of those tuners just ignored you and thus essentially refused to work with you on getting your car properly running? you paid for service and if that service is not provided to you then you can dispute the charges with CC card provider, go to small claims court, BBB.

i must say that PromeMotoring was responsive and supporting every time I called, you can see their posts. Ultimately, since they are offering the tuning and I paid to them, they refunded me.

What are you talking about? You still are trying to make things up as you go because you can NOT take responsibility for you own misdoings. The lines were isntalled correctly, the fuel pump and and injectors would not cause an overboost. you saw with your own eyes what did. get over it Kai, you installed your kit, you didnt follow instructions and a wastegate cap fell off. its not hard to believe and multiple people told you this has happened to them.

Here is the thread for everyone to see.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70685

PS- he wasnt there but anyone with common sense can see whos fault that truly is. you can say "a good tuner would be on top of it" and we told you a million times, your car did not boost sky high, it was caught but still too late.
