KMS Drift at AMS today
Fack, it's early for a saturday...
Heading down to Atlanta Motor Speedway in about 30 minutes for the KMS Drift event. I will be "competing" in the street class. Really just going to get some more advanced car control practice and have some fun sliding the FR-S around. If anyone makes it down there today I will be pitting with the Guys from GTE (grand turismo east)... Stop over and say hello

Nahh, I didn't have a camera mount or anything. It was a decenet event and I actually did pretty well for my first time trying to drift.. spun it a few times, got a feel for flicking the tail out. I got a few good runs in, linking 2 or 3 drifts together. Next time out I'll do much better im sure

W00T,
Found a smoking deal on a set to 17x8 SSR Type-C's in et35. 15lbs each, forged, should serve me well. Gunmetal centers with polished lip. All in, with a new set of lug nuts and the proper hub centric rings will be about $950

Thanks man, I hope the gunmetal looks good with the asphalt... if not the price was low enough i can refinish them to match the asphalt on the centers and keep the lip polished... or go black for the centers with a polished lip.. etc etc.

FA20 Cold Air Intake Installed
So, i have a few posts to catch up on....
I got around to installing my FA20CLUB CAI athis past weekend. I opted for the smaller diameter longer bodied K&N filter because i did not want to delete the plastic radiator block off plate. As an added bonus it has 30% MOAR filter area than the AEM dry flow option I am one of those people who refuses to vent my crank case to atmosphere. I feel it is always better to pull a vacuum on the crank case. When i placed the order for the intake I completely forgot about the crank case vent on the intake side... the basic intake includes a vibrant crank vent air filter but I decided instead that i would sacrifice my stock snorkel to make a l33t coupler that would re use the factory vent elbow Turned out very nicely if i do say so

I lost 3 lbs... per corner
So, I posted pics earlier of the 17x8 ET35 SSR Type - C's I found earlier. I tried to darken up the silver painted area to closer match the asphalt body color using duplicolor black crome paint.....it turned out like crap so insted i stripped the wheels and took them to a local body shop to have the centers painted body color and then the whole wheel face cleared with chip resistant clear. Looking at the pictures it is hard to tell the difference between the black chrome coated and the asphalt painted... If i had to do it over again I probably would have just stuck with the black chrome rather than going to the trouble of stripping all 4 and paying to have them sprayed.
I picked them up this AM and took them down to Grand Turismo East to get some 225/45 AD08's mounted. After looking at the specs on numerous tires i decided the AD08 was the best bet... it runs wide for a 225 at 8.5" tread width (compaired with 7.5" for the 215 stockers, yup that's 25mm wider ) and the rolling diameter puts it within a few rev's per mile of the stock setup. Best part is I lost 3lbs per corner despite gaining 1" of tread width and a 180 treadwear compound :happy0180:

Hell yeah the wheels look amazing with body matched centers!! When is the low coming?
Also how do you like the CAI so far? Are you running the BRZEdit tune with it? |
