Suggested retail price. I know sonic is ditching ID and blowing them out, reducing the prices. But 400 is still a good deal for both new.

I got everything back together and took a long ride. Its hard to describe how much better the car is. For less than $100 and 15lbs, the car has moved up a class. From the sealed and deadened doors, the stock speakers now have some balls. I can feel them shaking the hair on my legs and do not distort. No rattles either. I cannot hear the window motors anymore. The doors close with a solid thump. Adding the dampening to the rest of the car has cut down on road noise quite a bit. The car does not resonate when you hit a big bump. Feels a lot more solid. Very happy so far.

What's up man! great thread so far. What are the speaker sizes for the front dash? are you going to run a 3-way (door kicker and mid/tweet on dash)?

where are you going to place your sub? i don't want it taking up too much room, but I also don't want to place it on one side or the other in the trunk to disturb the balance of the car.

Thanks and can't wait to see your finished product!

Speaker sizes for the dash are 3 1/2" and a small tweet. I will be running a 2 way with the KRX mids in the doors and the MD130s in the dash.
Kind of up in the air on the subs/amps right now. If my amps sell, I will put a single amp under the passenger seat and the sub behind the rear seat. If not I might do a false floor in the spare tire well. Not really sure yet.

Great job. What size are the rear speakers now? Do you think it could fit 4" speakers without much modification?

I would ignore running speakers in the rear panels.. but that's just me.

Poor design, and you want your sound stage up front anyway.

I just ditched the rears and sealed the holes in the panel. Don't need them at all.

Yeah I was thinking I was gonna ignore the back speakers cause it's not like I'm gonna put people back there. I just figured there's a spot for them, why not use them? I probably will bypass them just because I could save $400 that way. I just wanted to see if I could fit speakers there if I wanted to.

There is a thread with an instal blog on here that a shop did. They filled the hole behind the panel and put a 5 1/4? I think in it.

Noticed you are from BR. Check out our local thread.

I'll probably just ignore the rear. I've got a couple of months to make that decision anyway.
Thanks for the link to the local thread.

Random question, when you removed the roof liner... did you see how the antenna is attached to the roof? Any pics if possible would help.
