I sometimes get "enthusiastic" responses from those drivers - following me in traffic, driving faster when they see me, etc.

We all have more in common (probably) than not. It pisses me off that people get on their high horse and judge each other's choice. There is a good argument to get every car above listed, just personal preference. I always like seeing more sports/rwd cars out there. It gives me hope that people have not given up on driving.
I used to be an evo fanboy. But really i grew out of that mentality and along the way became a CAR enthusiast. I can appreciate others choices and dont give a damn what others think of what i drive. I used to hate on honda drivera but really theyre just like me, bought and loved a fun to drive car and decided to invest in it. But what i do frown on are the wannabes who do half assed body kits and people who intentionally drive like a dumbass to showoff what they got.

I've noticed 350z and 370z owners driving like asshats around me on the freeway but other than that the responses I've gotten have been overwhelmingly positive.

Yeah, same here. I barely notice the others until they do something unsafe and crazy so they can pull up next to me and make some silly moves. Happened twice in the last week. One was a 350z on the freeway and the other was some obnoxious late 90's Camaro with flame decals all over it. Second guy kept honking and made it hard for me to get into my lane after a turn, then stayed where I needed to merge.. just dummies trying to get a rise.

Lots of interest though in general. People breaking their necks to get a good look at it when they pass by, husbands trying to explain to their wives followed by the inevitable eye-roll by the lady.

I have yet to experience one of those racing type of reactions, maybe I just don't look the part, or maybe I don't drive like an ass. The most agressive anyone has gotten around me is to get closer to look at the car. Best reaction so far was a cute blonde in a Cobalt who just nodded approvingly at me when I made eye contact.

I parked my car in the city the other day and waiting outside of it. This guy starts talking to me about the FRS and leaves by saying it's a cute car... this man was probably in his 40's. and I was actually couldn't respond because I was so shocked he used that word.... I could understand if a girl called it cute, but cmon dude lol.

We're RWD sports car drivers. We can all sit around and laugh at the guys stuck in the Versa, Yaris, and Accent penalty boxes.
Ha! Never heard it put this way, but it's perfect.

Agreed. The way I see it, every owner who chose their car for reasons outside of outright practicality, actually cares about what they have and have specific reasons for why they like it.

So, I definitely understand it when other car people have a Mustang, 350z, 370z, Genesis, etc. I don't even have an FR-S, I have an MR-S, but every time I have a conversation with someone; not a usual enthusiast, it goes like this:

"Is it fast?"
"No."
"Why did you get it? It's such a girls car."
"See, your car weighs 3400lbs. Mine is 2200lbs."
"What does that mean?"
"I can add a turbo, or even do an engine swap to make mine faster. You, cannot gut a car 1000lbs. and keep it street legal."
"What can you put in there?"
"a 300hp v6"
"... ..."

Don't go from a dig...electric motor, instant torque and all that stuff...if you do race him, go from a roll...should be close. Get someone to video it!

Cocky little kids nowadays...

I've never noticed anyone looking down on me or the car. But then again, I don't really have the energy or care to pay attention to others.
