Really considering the OEM Subaru subwoofer, but at 7 or 800 bucks, it's a pretty damn hard sell.

I want one too. Like $200 want one though not $800.. I haven't had a decent sound system since I was a teenager but I just like way it fits snug up against the side.

That's my whole thing. I'm nowhere near an audiophile, I just want a bit of a "thump". But of course, trunk space is so limited so I cant just mash an enclosure in there.

Maybe I'll just keep my eyes peeled on the classifieds.

Speaking of price of oem stuff it’s absurd how expensive certain pieces are. I saw someone who installed the trd fender “extensions” the other day, looked up the price, and they’re literally 500 bucks just for some small molded pieces that probably install with 3m tape.

Well, I've now assembled two separate keyboards, that have both ended up not working out for me.

First one had an issue with the feet/stands not fitting properly and causing the acrylic case to be bowed out. This is because the screws holding the feet in contacted LEDs on the PCB when everything was assembled. Contacted the company I ordered it from, and the owner/CS rep said that I could fix it by heating the acrylic with a hairdryer. Insisted that wouldn't stop a screw from hitting the PCB, and asked to be sent a replacement. Radio silence after that. That was a nice waste of around 180 bucks.

Second one had it's PCB go bad for F5, F6, 6, 7, Y, U, H, J, N and M. A firmware update fixed it for the most part, but every now and then, when I make a keystroke on one of those keys, it goes missing. Contacted that company asking what they'd do for me, and haven't heard back. This one may admittedly be my "fault" since the USB port it was plugged into in my motherboard ended up dying. Wonder if a weird power surge or something happened.

In any case, I've fallen in love with the layout of the second keyboard. Went onto Taobao.com and ordered a replacement PCB and more switches for under 90 bucks, so I'm not super upset.

If me assembling the replacement PCB doesn't go well, I'm going to accept that it's me, and not the keyboards that are the problem. I'm really hoping that I've just had bad luck and I'm not a total thud fuck when it comes to using a soldering iron.

In better news, can't remember if I posted an update on the course I took this past week. I made it to Friday without any glaring issues. We did our practical assessment, which revolved primarily around using a digital multimeter to obtain values, and then math at just about every station. I did fairly well, I think. When I handed my test in, I was pretty confident I scored at least 90% on it. Some of the guys I was on the course with had a ton of problems with even some of the more basic stuff on the course. Looking at it from my perspective, there were guys from companies that I am looking to apply to when I get my certification in that were on the course with me, and I know for sure I could easily replace the guy who had trouble converting mA to A and mV to V and vice versa. This next year is going to be exciting.

I reckon I never will understand your keyboard dilemma .......

To me, there are two kinds of keyboards ...... the black ones, that come with computers and ....... the one like I have, with the large, yellow keys .....

Good to hear that your course went well ..... congratulations .....

A matter of finding the proper switches, and layout. Need something relatively quiet, because I don't want to drive the other half mad. Unfortunately, my preferred switch type is the kind that makes a "clicky" noise when you hit a key. Other issue is finding something that is compact enough that I can travel with. I've had a couple "60%" keyboards that eliminate the function row, and everything to the right of the backspace key, instead using key combos for the missing keys is too much work/ I'm lazy and don't want to build the muscle memory to use the missing keys. I also like having arrow keys, along with a number pad, but I don't want the full on 100% layout, so a 92ish% percent with 96 keys instead of 104, that has every key right up against each other is ideal.

Course went well, but I still have my theory test coming up. Too bad they changed the test format recently, and its Computer Based Testing now, with I believe 100 questions, and 150 minutes to complete. All questions are multiple choice, which means one point per question, and no partial marks for at least showing your math.
