Tagging @CounterSpace Garage and @Jackson Racing, maybe they have some thoughts on the matter. I couldn't find any leaks last night.

Thanks Mike. I already have cleaning kits for my motorcycle filters. I hate cleaning those things. Too much oil, too little oil... Last edited by keithr; 08-09-2017 at 02:23 AM. |

I believe the source of the problem was found. The bypass valve (diverter valve) does not hold vacuum. A buddy tested it at idle and found the valve lets unmetered air into the intake hose tee at the back of the intake manifold. Thats a decent air leak. FYI folks.

Had the same problem. Have you taken it off to look inside? Mine partially melted and bits of its plastic got into the valve, preventing it from fully closing. A few others have had the same issue. Jackson does not offer a solution but at least one person switched to an aluminum valve.

I think it's backwards. The bypass valve on the JRSC opens when there's a vacuum pull on the diaphragm, to prevent compressor surge on closed throttle. The one shown in the link looks like it opens at high pressure.

Thanks! Do you know any other compatible bypass valve? I want to replace my plastic valve with a metal one.

Anyone have a recommended replacement bumper that fits better?
I've searched the thread, and I know people say it can be done with the stock resevoir, and I believe that's sometimes true... sometimes. But it's not true with mine, hoping there's some options out there! |
