Had lightning strike a transformer on a utility pole within 20feet vertically from me once while at a stop light (I as probably less than 10 feet horizontally from the pole). One amazing light show and definitely loud! YoungestSonHawk still talks about that since he was also with me. Weirdest thing I've ever been in though was blizzard with an embedded thunderstorm. One second you couldn't see because of darkness, next second you thought a nuclear bomb had been set off and you were at ground zero. +100,000 volts! |

Yesterday, I was driving home over the Key Bridge, and on the west side and on the bridge, it was very dry. On the east side, heading out to the Bay, the skies were dark purple, and you could see on the water surface that heavy rains were falling. By the time I got to the toll booth (with a clear view of the water), I had maybe up to ten large raindrops fall on my windshield, but I could hear it hitting the water just maybe 20 ft off shore. It was nuts. Completely dry on land, but there was obviously a massive and fast swell so close over the water. |

Dude. I've seen lightning strike within 100 feet way too many times. Pretty soon I'm going to start wearing a rice hat and start calling myself "Raiden."
Anyway I'm trying to think of ways to mutilate a Mustang GT. I think it'd be a decent track car if I could swap out the original 4.94L engine for a Ford Duratec and T-5. I need to swap it to a manual before college starts and I'm going to need a set of stock skinny rims to use for winter tires so it's nothing I can't use but that bellhousing for a Duratec keeps tripping me up. For the price of a rebuilt T-5 and a Duratec Bellhousing I can get an AZ6 from a NC Miata. I haven't seen a rebuilt T-5 for less than $750 and used AZ6s are $1000 or so. |

I'm still geeking out on how close the few lighting strikes hit from us. Note we were outside and not inside anyplace

"The world was a miserable place, but i was determined to save it. Maybe it was because i was aware of my pessimistically biased outlook on things. Or because i could still hear Alex's dying wish inside my head. Or maybe it was just because i didn't want The Obelisk to win. Either way, i had already made my decision and entered the arena; i was fighting The Obelisk with every muscle and synapse i had.
He had me trapped in an abandoned building in a waste-laid town in an indiscernible place-- it was more like Baghdad than anywhere else. He laughed into the burning winds, finding joy in the suspenseful game of cat-and-mouse. 'I give it to you human, you've always been the only one to truly challenge me.' He randomly blasted a wall with brainwaves, rocking the stone building and uplifting a thick enveloping dust cloud. 'But you are still nothing, human-- an insect biting, clawing and stinging at my toes. You will not regain this planet, it's more deserving than that. Humanity's single notable feat was my creation; never before have slaves designed their own master.' I'd had enough. I condensed infrared light rays into heat energy with my mind. I stepped back from the stone wall which divided us, held out my hand and concentrated. He kept narcissistically roaring, 'I can feel your focus, human. Bare in mind that this structure, these walls, these fleeting seconds-- do not truly exist at all. They are flaws in your temporal-based mind.' I released a torrential blast of brainwaves through the wall and toward The Obelisk. The wall exploded, the ground fissured and a blustering wind erupted as the atomic force raced toward him. Through the incurring onslaught he mumbled to himself, '. . .Too human.'" WhiteRook III: Exodus Excerpt Chpt: 'Rise & Fall of The Paragon' (Book Trilogy i'm writing)

At work, Japanese patron asked me if I was Korean... few mins later, Korean patron asked me if I was Korean.
I guess, I look more like Korean than Japanese lol |
