Well, here's my thought process.

I saw your last statement "I personally don't care if they drive up the price a bit since I don't want to see EVERYONE driving one."

How about the pricing style of the LFA? I never once stated that it is the price of the LFA, rather I'm implying that the performance per dollar is a tad-bit on the high side. So no, I have no idea what the price is, but if you're implying that you don't care if they drive up the price, I think that's simply ludicrous.

I see your thought process, I see you missed the 30k. NP.

That wasn't missed, 30k would be overpriced--and in that sense LFA-style pricing.

Bear in mind, can you tell me why it would be a good idea to have less of these cars on the road? Scion and Subaru aren't exactly luxury car manufacturers, so numbers do account for something. Does having more of the cars on the road dilute your experience?

IMO too many on the road = less cool factor, and usually hike in insurance.

How is 30k exactly over priced with the design, agility, and MPG alone?

I'm not a big fan of coupes, but doesn't other popular sports coupes usually cost around the 30k ball park at low options?

Not a 200hp rwd coupe.

$30k is too much for a scion and for this car.
We all know it's not going to be this much in the states unless it has every option and the TRD package. Even the BRZ is not going to be much more than the BRZ. Because they are basically the same car.

Hate the 2.5!

I LOVE the EJ207 and I'd love to have one, but it will never be so. I predict the next WRX/STI will probably have a 1.6L DI engine in JDM-land, if Subaru wants to get back into WRC. We will likely get a detuned, higher displacement version of that engine.

In any case, I'm going to stop with the and say that pricing/options need to come out already. Knowing what's in the BRZ and standing in line for the FR-S is killing me.

Ya know... I'm kinda amazed at how many people are turned off by these potential prices. Does the price really alter your decision in getting this car? If so... Why even follow it to the level most of you do? Sounds like fighting words and I honestly don't mean for them to be taken as such, I'm just curious. It's just that it's not like we're thinking of the car price going anywhere from 20k to 100k, so I don't see why the upper bracket of 25k-30k is such a deal breaker for a lot of you.

^I'd say it's two things:

- a price difference of between say 22k-27k is a pretty big percentage and if you're a kid just out of college, not making a lot of money, student loans, etc... an extra 5k is a load of money

- value. In its base form the FR-S/BRZ might just be the purest, awesomest, super-terrificest 'drivers car' of the last 25 years and you hear angels sing and see fair maidens off in the distance giving you come hither looks when you drive it... but if you can get 'more' (power, features, room, warrranty, etc...) for a similar car for the same or even less, some people will go that route

its def about value vs. sheer cost, a FRS at <25k is a great deal, but beyond that there are better performance bargains out there, stock vs stock. \I think most of us want to mod the car/customize it to make it our own, so tally up your desired aftermarket parts list and see what the car is going to "really" cost you...doesnt look so great with a base car of >25 LOL
