Thanks an sorry if this is a repeat.
No worries. and Nope..sorry.. not legal. Factory Replacement or equivalent for the Radiator.
Oil cooler not legal in STX

Got. So if we install the rad and oil cool what class does that bump us to and would we be competitive? (I won't be for a while regardless as a newbi)

Bill

I was wondering if y-piping a second intake into the first pipe. Place the MAF right in front of the throttle body. The idea was for more air. I DOUBT IT WILL WORK EVEN WITH A TUNE. Just wondering if i could. You can modify the intake just not the throttle body or MAF

You'd be bumped to Street Prepared, at the minimum. It's hard to say how competitive the twins could be prepped for Street Prepared. There's only one real way to find out.

I was on tire rack today and noticed the the 245 and 255 mm star spec z2's are the same price. is 255mm too much tire considering the lack of hp?

255 seems to be the preferred size for 9" wheels with the Z2. Plenty of rotation to still be had if your setup is dialed in for it.

So this weekend at the Packwood National Tour none of the SCCA people could see why the Oil Cooler would bump into SP or SM (which I got to run, go me). So maybe a change is coming? They would of let me run STX had I not taken the rear interior out (go big or go home, lol)

Looking over results I would of been mid pack with STX and battling for a trophy spot, on 300 tread tires.

I submitted a letter to create an allowance for oil coolers and radiators in ST, so write in support of it if they publish it.

The radiator rule would follow the SP one, you have to have one which weighs as much and has the same capacity as the stock one. Which isn't hard in our car, the radiator is smaller than most AC condensors.

They need to be classed in SP first.

As I posted earlier in the thread, we're in CSP as a result of the NOC (Not Otherwise Classed).

More than likely he twins will go to BSP. Last year I was thinking DSP, but unless the maximum final tire sizes are fairly small(255ish), I think an E85 twin on 285s will be there with the s2000 and show better reliability.
