There are a couple reviews floating around that compared them favorably to a Carbotech XP10. Seems like a great deal if you can find them. |

Track Brake Pad Discussion Thread
Brake Pad Manufacturer (F/R): Carbotech XP10
Caliper (F/R):Stoptech ST-40/OEM Rotor Size (F/R - IE OEM or specify):328MM/OEM Compound (F/R):XP10/XP10 Tires: Hankook RS3 and Dunlop ZIII Feedback: Couldn't keep these bedded on the street and they were very loud. Not loud when bedded. The pedal feel is vague under hard braking even though they do not feel like the performance has begun to fade. It makes it hard to modulate the brakes when the tires are hot and starting to get greasy making them feel inconsistent. Seemed to transfer a lot of heat to the caliper. Scores: Dusting (1=high-10=low):3 Cold bite (1=low-10=high):7 Hot bite (1=low-10=high):6 Modulation (1=low-10=high):3 Noise (1=extremely loud-10=quiet):2 Pad Lifespan (1=short-10=long): 5 About 12 track days plus DD'ing Does the brake dust with this combination damage the wheels/paint if not cleaned immediately? (Y/N) No, but left them for a long time on my OEM wheels and they were extremely difficult to clean off. Brake ducts: (Y/N) No

hi guys, I'm new here. I currently have the OEM Brembos Calipers and on Bridgestone RE-71R 235/40-17. What's a good pad to suggest for track? Do you guys suggest I continue to run the stock ones, which I think are TRD pads.
They're good for street and relatively clean of dust and sound, just not sure how they would hold up for track. I plan to run multiple groups back to back with different drivers. I'm familiar with Carbotech XP10/XP8 and Winmax W6/W4 on Hankook RS3/RS4. Something similar would be good. Any advice would be great, thank you! |

Brake Pad Manufacturer (F/R): G-Loc
Caliper (F/R): OEM Rotor Size (F/R - IE OEM or specify): Stoptech slotted, OEM spec Compound (F/R): R10 front/R10 rear Tires: Hankook Ventus RS4 255/40/17 Feedback: screeches from the front rotors, squeal at low speed. Other than that, they have strong initial bite, could be better thought. Scores: Dusting (1=high-10=low): 1 Cold bite (1=low-10=high): 7 Hot bite (1=low-10=high): 9 Modulation (1=low-10=high): 9 Noise (1=extremely loud-10=quiet): 2 Pad Lifespan (1=short-10=long): 4 HPDE, 1 AutoX, 2 High speed AutoX (standing start, no slaloms/no cones) Does the brake dust with this combination damage the wheels/paint if not cleaned immediately? Maybe Brake ducts: In the future |

Anyone have any information on the new CSG C1/C2 brakes? Coming from Winmax W6s or Project Mu 999s was wondering how people felt about them? The longevity is really appealing!

Car: BRZ w/ Perf Package (Brembos) - completely stock
Tracks: Laguna Seca, Thunderhill East/West, Buttonwillow Tires: I'll be on the stock Primacies for the first event or so, but will swap in some 200tw tires (RS4 most likely) afterwards. Experience: I've driven in about 10 track events with my previous car and was running Carbotech XP10 and XP8s. Looking to attend some track events in the near future for the first time with the BRZ. I've narrowed down my pad choices to Winmax W5 or PMU Club Racer. Does anyone have a recommendation to go with one over the other? Do they leave any sort of transfer layer that would prevent me from swapping in the stock pads for street use? |

Another option is CSG Spec C2, I just ran these at the front at Palmer this past Sunday. Great bite even cold, I ran them with Conti ECS street tires and with Hoosier A7s and honestly they were great at the track with either. Won my time trial class, COMSCC T60 (9 competitors including a 981 Cayman S) with a 1:48.16 They're also fine on the street, they work when cold, not too noisy and not too dusty either. Pretty remarkable! https://www.counterspacegarage.com/csg-spec-brake-pads Last edited by ZDan; 08-12-2020 at 09:58 AM. |

Prior Setup:
Brake Pad Manufacturer (F/R): Performance Friction Caliper (F/R): Ap Sprint by Essex (F), OEM (R) Rotor Size (F/R - IE OEM or specify): 299mm (F), OEM (R) Compound (F/R): 01 (F), 13 (R) Tires: Bridgestone RE-71R Feedback: Great bite, modulation and feel, this combo was the best feeling performing I have used on the car with 200 treadwear tires. When I switched to R-comp tires, the balance and modulation were thrown out of whack and pad wear increased greatly. Probably need to adjust the compounds to improve the balance with r-comps. Scores: Dusting (1=high-10=low): 7 Cold bite (1=low-10=high): 6 Hot bite (1=low-10=high): 8 Modulation (1=low-10=high): 9 Noise (1=extremely loud-10=quiet): 5 Pad Lifespan (1=short-10=long): 7 (3-4 events, 3 hours per event) Does the brake dust with this combination damage the wheels/paint if not cleaned immediately? (Y/N) No Brake ducts: (Y/N) No Current Setup: Brake Pad Manufacturer (F/R): G-Loc Caliper (F/R): Ap Sprint by Essex (F), OEM (R) Rotor Size (F/R - IE OEM or specify): 299mm (F), OEM (R) Compound (F/R): 16 (F), 8 (R) Tires: Nankang AR-1, Hoosier R7 Feedback: Great bite, pedal feel and overall stopping power. Seem to be wearing the front pads at a much higher rate and the front-end dips more under braking with the increased grip (pads & tires). Working with G-Loc and will be trying an R12 rear soon to adjust the braking balance. Scores: Dusting (1=high-10=low): 6 Cold bite (1=low-10=high): 8 Hot bite (1=low-10=high): 9 Modulation (1=low-10=high): 7 Noise (1=extremely loud-10=quiet): 3 Pad Lifespan (1=short-10=long): 4 (1-2 events, 3 hours per event) Does the brake dust with this combination damage the wheels/paint if not cleaned immediately? (Y/N) No Brake ducts: (Y/N) No
