A big part of the misconception we are all way north is the way the US map is usually presented.


The white area in the center of the Great Lakes and stretching to the east coast looks like it is just part of them and really small.



When see together with Canada it is obvious that it is actually huge and sticks well down into the US.

Yep, like one can drive through 4-5 states in New England in a day ....... then it would take two days to drive across Texas ......
