Ideally I want to end up on a naked sports bike. So far, I like the CB, but of course, I've only had experience with the CBR and the R series. The R bike was a bad experience, but realistically, I bought a horrible example, and was taken advantage of by the seller of it who saw an eager kid and an easy way to get rid of a problem. Once I get some miles under my belt, I'll take some different bikes out for test rides and be able to make a betterly informed choice. Edit: after seeing your edit, not sure I need to worry about 2 up. I got an earful when the girlfriend found out I bought the bike. Though, having the ability to do it when she eventually comes around would be nice. Maybe I should look at the 500cc offerings? |

Front and rear jack points, never take them for granted. One of the few things I hate about my Accent is that there isn't any real recommended place for a floor jack, meaning I have to find what I hope is a rigid structural member and hope to God I'm right.

Editing again: If the tank is metal, keep it full all the time. Fill up before you park it. If there is air in the tank, it WILL rust. Plastic tanks, not so much, but they have been known to expand when alcohol gets into the molecules. Those should be stored dry. Forget an "R" anything for road use. They are literally "RACE" bikes with the associated race only ergonomics. urgh. 500s are sort of a red headed step child currently. Most development is aimed at the 125, 250 and then the bigger displacements. Mostly due to the European market and stepped permit levels. The Honda Ascot 500 parallel twin was a nice bike, but that's really old now and carbureted. I'd only put money down on an Injected bike now no matter the age.

I mostly like the 500 (and under, really) offerings because of the insurance thresholds. Seems like once you go 600+, at least with what I'm interested in, the insurance rates skyrocket. Years ago when I bought a CBR 125 and got a quote it was 3300, then when I got the R6, it was 11,500. Was really cool to have my dad be ok with being the primary. |

Ninja 250 then.
Another MX5 choice. Fekin long run, parts everywhere, may *make* money on resale. Carbs though. I don't think they went FI until the 300. CB250 - the new one is a single cylinder thumper. Not my thing. Some deluded people might like them.

On the bright side that means your street actually gets plowed. We have had a total of about 4 feet of snow this year and have been plowed twice.

I bought my CBR for $500. Could sell for at least $1500, some examples go for $1900. So that's cool. Kind of the big reason I'm thinking about another bike.

I got lucky this morning and caught the plough coming. Moved both cars and it's squeaky clean. With all this rain and plummeting temps tonight, I'm sure the car will be frozen solid come morning.
