My second gear is stupid notchy when cold. I can't shift into second fast or past 2500rpms until I've got about 5 miles on it. This morning was a little longer because, well, 9°.

The best warm up IS driving. I double clutch if I need too, but I haven't needed to since last winter aside from today...which I consider a success since I was having issues in 50 degree weather last winter.

Well, let me clarify: second certainly feels different from 1 and 3 when cold, but it's no longer locking me out or requiring double-clutch on a regular basis. Is it a bit notchy? Yeah. My whole gearbox was stiff today though.

My gearbox just locks me out in 2nd when cold . And I do just start the car and go :-)

My second is a tiny bit rough the first time I shift into it in the cold but fine after that, never had much of a problem. I let the car warm for maybe a minute or two before going. Helps to row through the first few gears while parked before I start driving too.

Got my fuel pump replaced yesterday with the 3rd? gen pump. Once it warms up I will see if those pesky crickets are gone.

What tranny fluid are you running? My transmission is slightly notchy when engaging 2nd and the car is bone cold, but by the time I'm turning out of my neighborhood and on to the main road (maybe 1/2 - 1 mile), I don't notice any issues (even in this morning's arctic temperatures). I'm using amsoil.

Stock I should probably change that out, along with the diff fluid. I still need to bring the car into the dealer though for the shifter issue, so I don't want to put expensive fluid in there if they end up having to drop the tranny.

Stock fluids here, no shifting issues. I let my car run for 15-20 minutes before driving it.

Anyone have a spot welder they can lend/come do some spot welds?

Edit: Apparently plug welds with a mig are the new spot welds. Nevermind the need.
